**Edited: CFTC has rescheduled the date for this event from Feb 6th to Feb 14th, 2017.**

Someone decided that they might need to deal with the plunging stock market instead and leave crypto alone?
One would hope, but whatever. It would be "funny" if they wanted to damage crypto and shot themselves in the foot so to speak.
It already happened before. A law of unintended consequences.

EDIT: Dow is down more than 500 points again.

there is a thread in the speculation subforum called "meme speculation"

Why was it locked? Went through couple of pages.. it looks fun..

I started a meme link, a while back..went no place....likely, I put it in the wrong area

I look at the charts, and I can't help but feel a bit worried, since the trading price is tanking so much.

However, I truly believe that we are still in an early adoption phase. I believe that in 1-2 years, possibly longer, we will look back on this as just another one of those small blips, like we look back on $1000 to $100 drop in 2014 (which I didn't experience personally, but I know that must have been painful for many).

Instead, I feel sad for a different reason.
Personally I'm rather more disappointed in what I caused for my family - my family owns about 2+ Bitcoins, a lot of LTC, ETH, and a wide variety of alts that many old-timers would call "ERC20 shitcoins".
Although I was an early-ish adopter, the large amount of money my parents put in to crypto basically means we are down a lot, overall.

Why does it take so long for everyone to panic dump?  Just do it already.

Guys i think this isnt a healthy correction, this is a crash...
We tanked more then 60% in price And still going we had many correctios
When the price was high So Dont Tell me this is a correction.

Banks And the goverments are toying with us And banning crypto
And maybe this Will go on

I'm usually a bull, but with the coordinated (as in lets every gov't pile on the dogpile now that BTC is dropping with regs/fud)

my current thought is, that IF Tether news comes out as scammy.....BTC will dump below 4k and rebound ...if we are lucky to 8k

then a year of sideways

hope I am wrong....but I see India...piling on next and copying China FUD and then IF Tether is shown to play games FUD....

We, IMHO are not at the bottom yet....

(HODL, I shall though. I don't need this crypto to live my lovely slick, wrong side of the tracks...suburban trashy lifestyle....I have enough for retirement in the regular USA stock market....

...ah crap...that is why I got into crypto in 2013...in the first place....damn, I am totally F**KED! indeed) Sad

Oh well, I always secretly knew my retirement would consist of being a 'Wallmart Door Greeter' ...

Assuming this mirrors the $2 -> $266 rally, $5000 will probably be a good stopping point.

No such thing as resistance or support
where was the resistance when it was going up, breaching record after record ?

btc is not your regular stock market.
