So everybody knew a bit about BTC and cryptos.

They put some money into the market in a skyrocketing period of gains, then a steady and eventually a huge dump.

They shook their hands and now someone believes it's not worth it, it's about a scam and so on (in the meantime FUD and regulations applied).

If you look at charts the price is still higher than August. Investments are increasing in this market.

Again, I see a strategy both to put away weak people from the market and reset it in order to follow the next pump.

The real issue:
is BTC still the king?

Any crypto is traded with BTC, so BTC is a critical leverage to exchange whatever crypto you want, however in the real market we should also look how ETH is performing, the latter seems particularly in shape even in this massive dump!

ETH is also weak as a protocol.  Solidity is built on sand.  Programming secure smart contracts is a nightmare - just ask Parity. ETH has a great idea but shitty implementation.  It doesn’t deserve its market cap at this time.

Guys i think its over...

IT was a honor ;(

Don’t be silly.  It’s not over it’s barely begun.  We might go to 3k between here and there but that’s nothing.  We will be back bigger and meaner than ever.  If changing the world was easy, everyone would do it.

I agree, too many gamblers

“Following the ad ban by Facebook, China banned advertising cryptocurrencies as well. Japan has forced local exchanges to warn about risks of cryptocurrency trading. While India announced the toughening of the regulation of the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin can rebound, but on the upside investors will sell it in the short term,”

At this point if you have a tether account and a fiat account, its a no brainer to buy in just the tether account.

Yes it is but on the plus side, the sell order books are stretched very thin on all exchanges and the buy side is holding strong. No one seems ready to call the bottom though so a rebound is not on the cards yet although the volume is increasing on each attempt. All it will take is some brave whale to kick off a neck breaking bounce. What happens after that though is anyone's guess

Bulltrap?

It was.
And I dare say we're in another.
The bulltraps will continue until Tone Vays is worshipped as a demigod of TA.
Still, this is nothing; a scratch....

What will happen is once it reaches 8000 or 5500, suddenly everyone in the forum will be calling $1K and the death of bitcoin, but I will be there saying.. "no idiots were about have a bounce to $13K", and viola, suddenly I'm a bull.  Though as usual I'll be the person on the forum receiving the most flak.

I suddenly remembered this post from a month ago. The first half has already come true (along with certain people calling the end of Bitcoin). The second is calling for a 50% bounce up.

So I have to merit this.

This is getting close to the 'blood on the streets' point.

But it is wise to see why the speed of this drop is actually positive - who wants a two year bear market?  2014 / 2015 all over again?  No thanks.  Give me the fall now, show us the real bottom, cut the dead wood back and we will see the growing back far sooner.

It'll be good to see one more dump from hell IMHO.

Bitcoin and crypto in general is not dead, right? After Gox, it did look like it might all be over - that is not the case now, nowhere near it.  So at some point there is a price to buy hand-over-fist coming up.  This drop is not manipulation, it's not news, it's just how it is.  We went incredibly high until weak hands FOMO'd it even higher, perhaps irrationally so.  These weak hands are being shaken out and once they are we will find a base to rise from.

The coins you buy now, may not see a profit immediately, but they definitely will in time.   How much time, no one knows.  But Bitcoin has NOT seen its last ATH.  That is so probable, it's a good enough probability to speak of as certainty.

EDIT: for sense.
