Im not scared (a bit maybe). we WILL bounce off the bottom of this channel and continue on our merry way.

Why does that scare you? Did you sell at the bottom instead of hodling?

Too soon to tell. It may be, but it may also be some locally regular pattern.

The shorter term trend has to do battle with the longer term trends.    The longer the dates of the trend, the more momentum it has and its a larger speedbump to any recovery such as the one you outline.

I usually take 4hr bars as the lowest serious time frame to consider movements in price.   The reason being the whole world fits into 4 hours, every section of the globe roughly overlaps each other by these 6x 4hr periods of trading and theres a new spirit within each one.
Every part of the globe wakes up and has a reaction to the price and news and thats kinda more visible within each 4 hour time period.

UPDATE     AND GOOD LUCK.

Things are looking better again - specialy for newcomers/investers and so on
Little bit of green and news is getting bullish again
So fingers crossed for going into a very bright 2018/ future
My sails are wide open too take much wind and too go in full ocean or Just on the CCMF train

So within short time somebody’s gonna collect them .25 big ones or eather mid-longterm .....?

My thoughts on this pullback was that the rise is faster then the recovery.   So my march date I was probably accounting for some pullback but not for the longer time to wind back up.   Also it may go quiet in Chinese new year, so a bit sideways more then a breakout just my guess.

I type d that tyitle twice because I knew it was wrong the first time.  Still wrong.  w/e.  GF's out at a lesbian bar, BTC crashing WHY AM I HOLDING? I'LL TELL YOU WHY.  It's because I'm a bad trader and I KNOW I'M A BAD TRADER.  Yeah you good traders can spot the highs and the lows pit pat piffy wing wong wang just like that and make a millino bucks sure no problem bro.  Likewise the weak hands are like OH NO IT'S GOING DOWN I'M GONNA SELL he he he and then they're like OH GOD MY ASSHOLE when the SMART traders who KNOW WHAT THE FUCK THEY'RE DOING buy back in but you know what?  I'm not part of that group.  When the traders buy back in I'm already part of the market capital so GUESS WHO YOU'RE CHEATING day traders NOT ME~!  Those taunt threads saying "OHH YOU SHOULD HAVE SOLD" YEAH NO SHIT.  NO SHIT I SHOULD HAVE SOLD.  I SHOULD HAVE SOLD MOMENTS BEFORE EVERY SELL AND BOUGHT MOMENTS BEFORE EVERY BUY BUT YOU KNOW WHAT NOT EVERYBODY IS AS COOL AS YOU.  You only sell in a bear market if you are a good day trader or an illusioned noob.  The people inbetween hold.  In a zero-sum game such as this, traders can only take your money if you sell.

so i've had some whiskey
actually on the bottle it's spelled whisky
w/e

sue me
(but only if it's payable in BTC)

It appears that with the amount of volume that came along with the $6k low it is definitely a solid floor. A floor that will rise over time, as bitcoin tends to do.

If that's the lowest it goes from here on out I'd be quite pleased even if we're far down from the ATH.

I can now say that I am not sure about this issue as the rise can continue after that. But for me, a decline will continue and I think Bitcoin will continue to rise later.

...
Yet the price of Tether haven't really crashed. BUT... what has crashed is all the crypto market which I think could be related. What if it was Tether/Bitfinex that had USDT somewhat backed.... NOT by USD but by a mix of USD, BTC and many other crypto?

If that were the case they would have been forced to liquidate those crypto assets to maintain the USDT peg stable. And, having to back more than 2 billion dollars overnight requires a lot of dumping, which causes panic and many other people dump too. Also as the price of the crypto assets go lower, more (coin units) dumping is required to extract the same value.... and there you have your doom circle.

Is that what has happened? Maybe, or at least it has been one in many factors behind the "crash".

Good post.

What if I told you that actually a Bitfinex employee (bfx_drew) (accidentally?) blurted out exactly this
a few weeks ago?

Most of us know that it is highly unlikely that institutional investors
have wired 2.2 billion $ and 85 M € to a sketchy entity like Tether.
However, it is entirely possible that Tethers are actually backed by cryptocurrencies.
E.g. exchanges like Binance make a ton of income in trading fees, but they collect
it in various altcoins and not in fiat and they surely would prefer to hold it in a stable coin
like USDT instead of random altcoins.

That this could be a problem in the event of falling prices is obvious as
@bitserve correctly pointed out in his post.

That would also make some sense as to the timing of the Friedman LLP audit being terminated.

Was out of the office a couple of days. Today I heard a couple of collegues actually sold at the bottom! Shaking out the weak hands really works.....  =(

Never owned more bitcoin than I do today. I am a lousy trader, which fortunately I know, so I haven’t had so little fiat for quite a while.

Many are in for gaining dollars, euros or whatever fiat currency (not judging, perfectly normal). Few want to take the risk of accumulating a fixed stake in a truly decentralized ledger with mostly still unknown potential.

I feel fortunate being able to spend most of my pay so frivolously.
Minor quibble: The potential is known. The degree to which that potential will end up being realized, and the timetable, is the unknown.

I'm still kind of coming to grips with the fact that a man just put his version of a lambo IN ORBIT...with a final destination of MARS...

I Like what Mr. Musk did with that car  Tongue

(This pic is real)

I somehow missed the car in that. Had to go back to double check, damn that guy is all the good kinds of crazy.

And the stereo is playing "Space Oddity".
I wonder if you can here music from a car stereo in mars thin atmosphere?
