Minor quibble: The potential [of Bitcoin] is known. The degree to which that potential will end up being realized, and the timetable, is the unknown.
I have to disagree. We could have never imagined the uses cases the Internet brought to us in the 90's and even early 2k. Even Bitcoin can be considered an extension of the Internet. It is therefore very hard to judge Bitcoin's potential, especially at this stage. Bitcoin's like email in its early days. Nobody knows its potential in another 20 years (especially central bankers). +2 WOsmerits One for post and one for compelling meme. Id give you real ones but out like everyone else it seems.

Let's be rational. Bitcoin can't recover the same way it crashed. Despite the local low peak, we are still bullish for now. Buyers who missed the train, it's your opportunity.

I appreciate it, but I'm the kind of fellow that likes to be way above-board with the IRS. Zero aspiration to tempt the fates in that regard. What makes you think that taking advantage of the specifically-congressionally-created special tax treatment for Puerto Rican residents is in any way 'below board'? Perhaps because he lives in Montana. I just assumed that coinosphere.tk was talking about reading the article with the thought that BobLB might choose to live in Puerto Rico for at least 183 days out of the year in order to take advantage of aforementioned specifically-congressionally-created special tax treatment for Puerto Rican residents. I mean, as long as he's contemplating a move anyhoo. I know I've been thinking about it -- hard -- for over a year.

Looks like the whole tx spam job by ... jbreher, ... is officially a failed exercise in self-falattio
If you have any evidence whatsoever that I have been in any way associated with a 'tx spam job', then cough it up. Fucking lying asshole. About a 9 on the tension scale there, Rube. Yeah. Admittedly. I just tire of the incessant baseless, ignorant, and malicious slander. Don’t come in here as a big blocker and play victim. I ain't 'playing victim'. There is a wide gulf from permissionless innovation that you don't happen to care for, and outright lying in order to besmirch character.

Buy a citizenship in the South Pacific archipelago of Vanuatu for about about $280,000. The country also has no income, inheritance, or corporate tax. It’s not even customary to tip there, according to the Vanuatu Tourism Office. Use its passport to spend half the year in the USA, and half the year somewhere else. You don't even need to live there to retain your citizenship.

Why is it now all these bears are allowed to run free without getting scolded by JayGuanGee
Damned good question. Perhaps JJG feels safe to obnoxiously scold only when certain he is expressing majority sentiment?

New poll: glade or no glade
What exactly does glade refer to? Previously I thought a glade either referred to a garden or an air freshener, but another poster used it to refer to like a dead cat bounce, and now we're trying to start a trend of using the word glade. Sort of out of the woods, kinda?

I don’t hold with the level of racism in this thread either.
A ban of Roach would be a good start. His noodlings on physical silver don’t bring sufficient value to justify his other bullshit. I don’t give a flip if he has has been here since day 1.
Who has mod powers on this thread now ?

You ALWAYS know what it's going to write without needing to read it which is the definition of a worthless poster. A waste of everyone's time and electricity that brings nothing.

At least ignoring people makes the page catch-up quicker.... But does no one else think some things are beyond the pale?
I just despair of a worldwide forum supposedly devoted to freedom for all being so intolerant and ignorant sometimes. I guess it's me that's the oddball looking at the shit that passes by here as 'normal' as far from it. I have punched people for less, and yep, had the shit kicked out of me for objecting, too.
However, I don't think advocating racism and even genocide on here is anything but abhorrent and I never will, so I can't change my spots.
I cannot tolerate it when my forbears fought and were prepared to (and sometimes did) die to fight this, so I think I had better stop lurking here.
I temp. unignored a few of these racists to find out what had pushed you over the edge. None of them say anything useful about bitcoin or the price or the world. Unlike you, who occasionally... They must have been very hurt somewhere along the line to be so rabidly, rigidly raging. I don't argue with them, because they certainly won't change in the face of logic. Horrified newbies will always engage them, so their cries will leak into one's feed. Maybe we should engage those newbies with stirring little speeches rather than running away. This is appreciated. I can't remember a day in years I haven't checked in on the WO - it's part of my life, I engage with it less often than I read it. But I wanted to yesterday, then my blood just suddenly ran cold when I felt I was just part of a thread peppered with stuff that made me question what kind of people I was nodding along with. Some things were waved though without being seen as anything but normal - and I seemed the only person to find them sickening. Maybe I should look away more often and wear an old-fashioned clothes peg on my nose, or perhaps better still - yes; fight for the positive, rather than run from the the negative. I will reconsider and not flounce out. That said, I am damned if I won't speak my mind if I feel compelled to. Thank you. ^ This. Been following this thread on and off since my first bitcoin purchase in 2013 - never really contributed (the Newbie account is because i went away for a bit and the forum got hacked or something). Came back in the last few months to see 100% nazi posts going on in this thread - WTF? I guess mostly it's some troll clowns who think they are funny, but some seem so extreme they probably are nazis - I'm thinking primarily of Realr4cist or Realr3tard or whatever he's called. Thankfully not seen him for the last couple of weeks - hopefully his week hands collapsed and he lost everything. Surely they could just go and hang out on 4chan or somewhere?

It is therefore very hard to judge Bitcoin's potential, especially at this stage. It is very easy. Supply and demand. The supply is known, and it is known that only a tiny percentage of the world population currently use bitcoin. If most of the world ends up using it? Millions. That's the potential. The realization of said potential, on the other hand.

Yes some of his racist crap offended me too and I'm not no bleeding heart liberal. But I believe in free speech,. quite passionately . Best way to counter is with some salient argument or just simply ignore. Besides he does make some interesting observations at times.

Free speech is fine, I'm strongly in favour with some limits - but the internet is full of forums for racists to vent their shite. It's not relevant to this thread, and should get modded (and yes I get the irony that this discussion isn't either).

There is no middle ground. Fuck off. Cunt.
