I'm out at $126.76 on Bitstamp - can't see it going higher and I need to take profits as I'm down on trading over 6 months. Will sit down this weekend and work out whether I'd have been better off if I'd bought at held up to this trade, I suspect I would be

What's the deal with the continual sell of 1 btc every 10 seconds? Been going on for hours, prob all day. *edit* if you want to see what im talking about go to http://trading.i286.org/ and check the "summarize trades" option.

The daily total of all block rewards is only 3600btc (approx, subject to adjustments). Also, any such purchases wouldn't appear on MtGox totals. Some person or organization has indeed been spending millions of dollars a week through July and August purchasing bitcoins and protecting their investments with bidwalls on MtGox.

It's an application or script programmed to trade by proxy on behalf of the programmer. **sheesh - noobs***

For ex, whether someone has observed this kind of bot behavior in the past before a crash or panic buy. Jerk.

A continual spam of sells is typical before a crash or a rocket? Or both? I'm curious because the past few weeks I've notice spurts (hour or so) of continual small buys (usually 0.01 or less). The current 1btc sells have been going on all day long with almost no interrupts.

This has actually been happening a lot lately on both buys and sells and both bids and asks. Jerk.

And how much btc did avalon, asicminer, bfl (I know scam...), etc rake in to produce? Those factories that produce those chips require cash in the 6 figures to produce... think about it...

Could a whale buy 2-3000 BTC at once to push the price up and then sell them 1 at a time every few seconds to prevent the price from crashing. Rinse and repeat?

i dunno wtf is going on but I am convinced 99% of trading is done by bots. Their primary directive is to play games with each other, keeping the price stagnant or rising. Eventually the humans become irresistibly tempted to move their bids up. The bots then sell into it. Resistance is futile.
