As someone who worked as a defense contractor for over 20 years I will say that there is little science being done when working for the government.
It's mostly "what answer does the customer want?" followed by tweaking the numbers in the models to meet their expectations so that when the time comes they will continue to give you contracts. (eg. this Colonel is in the pocket of Harris Corp so when we do the side by side comparison of a Lockheed and Harris radio we need to make sure the Harris radio comes out as the superior radio). If we don't give them the numbers they expect then they claim that we have faulty models and don't know how to do simulations so they will find someone with more "realistic" numbers. So you play their game.
The amount of tweaking that could be done for wireless radio simulations was endless. I can only imagine what the global temperature models are like.

^^^without science you would still "drive around" with a horse and buggy and work back bending routines for 14hr in the fields. That would be something.
Or sit on my horse, watching my serfs reap the harvest... Someone's gotta do it.

people believe in terraforming but climate change is a myth?
Someday when it comes time to terraform our first planet we can just build lots of cars with no catalytic converters and drive them around on the surface. Or drive cars with turbo jet engines like f1 or planes use and do away with pollution for a change. Please dont tell me some aluminum rived will hold a quarter of million tons of jet-fuel alone like on the A380 plus engines and hydraulics and what not.

In actuality, the longer the trend is in place, the more it is likely it is to continue, jokes aside. This is true for stock markets and CO2 as well, I surmise. Co2 increase is there and accelerating for the last 60 years (see again the same link), so it is LIKELY to continue, but not guaranteed, of course.

I would rather chill in my self driving space car on the way to my Moon solarium loft while doing something kinky with my genetically enhanced partner in zero g, but that's just me. You can dream some dark dreams, I prefer better ones.

No, we would be poking pigs with sticks. What is with people taking something as complicated as agriculture as a given?

No, we would be poking pigs with sticks. What is with people taking something as complicated as agriculture as a given? "without science" overpopulation and destructive mono-culture 'farming' would not be around either, so I guess poking a pig with a stick (or snaring some rabbits) would be reasonable.

Those CO2 exponential growth projections are bullshit. Time to short that shit. It clearly does look as it is topping. Dump incoming soon.

not if you zoom in... We should keep this trend up until we reach 800-1000 ppm, so humanity's IQ drops 20-25 points. Then we're be too stupid to solve things anyway.

And again all users on the last 3 pages are put on ignore list. Trolls spitting BS in the lust for public attention. I don't care. They are all rekt. The good news from the last days is that BTC is on it's way to 10K! All weak hands are biting their nails because they listened to the trolls and panic sold at 6K. I wonder whether they will die of anger when we break the ATH

If the solution to global warming was "oh shit, looks like we'll need to shut down governments and implement anarcho-capitalism to save the planet"...then I might be more inclined to believe the scientists that are paid by the government.
When the solution to global warming (science funded by governments) is "we need to give more power to governments" makes a fella go...hmmm....
Clearly, human pollution is causing severe weather, and climate shifts on all the planets in this solar system. It is laughable that some people think its driven by the sun. Moar taxes will fix it all! There have been five mass extinction events on Earth that we know about. During each one, 75% of all species on the planet died. Most of these extinctions were caused directly or indirectly by climate change. During what palaeontologist have nicknamed The Great Dying, 95% of the species on the planet was wiped out by super volcanoes that erupted for centuries, slowly turning the atmosphere to poison. Another became know as the Oxygen Explosion, during which primitive bacteria covered the planet and oops ate up all the CO2. Humans will probably be the catalyst for the sixth mass extinction, if not the driving force.

What kind of cars caused the first five extinction events? If they had Teslas would they have been prevented?

Interesting that we have been in that middle channel for so long. Even if we followed the lower channel we'd be in decent shape long term.

Interesting that we have been in that middle channel for so long. Even if we followed the lower channel we'd be in decent shape long term. That chart is by PentarhUdi aka Masterluc aka Bitcoin Vanga - his forecasts are well respected by a fair few people. His recent mid-term opinion is bearish however : https://vk.com/bitcoin_vanga?w=wall-130254204_10525
