tldr: tx was added manually by slush and bet was end of day local time not 24 hours. if i got it right.

I thought that might be the case, or that it was RBF and accelerated... They shouldn't have intervened really. I received a tx the other day with a 0.78 sat/byte fee and it took about 18 hours to confirm.

Better question: will we every go below $8k? And if yes, when will be the last time?

Price is consolidating around 8k. I think it might jump to 9k at any minute.

imho 95% of very early buyers of btc don´t own a large btc stash anymore.

-lost/destroyed hardware
-lost private keys
-spent for pizza or other stuff
-got hacked
-some bad trades
-going full retard as "daytrader"
-sold because it finally went over $10
-lost btc on mtgox and other exchanges
-bought shitcoins
-fell for scams
-invested in butterfly labs or other vaporware
-believed the bcash lies
-believed in the ETH flippening
-etc, etc

you are still early. mass adoption not here yet. if you manage to hodl a few whole btc you are going to be allright.rich.

We’re only just over 8k so I’d say the chances of going below 8k ever again are quite high.

So far, $8k is holding decently well.  Will be interesting to see if the weekly plays out as green or red.

We have about 33 hours before the weekly candle closes, and it looks like we need to be slightly above $8,200 for the weekly candle to come out as green.  Gonna be a nail biter?

I was not an early adopter, but I was close.  I'm sure a lot of what you suggest above would have applied to me.

Was the pizza good at least?

On Wednesday I bought two Costco pizzas, they cost me BTC0.003 (actually, it was the equivalent in fiat, but whatever.)  Costco pizzas are always good.

I don't know about other Americanos but to me Budweiser tastes like salt water.

The conventional 'murrican domestic lagers are revolting, watered down cans of piss.

They are like the altcoins of beer, they purport to be beer but are not.  How  Eberhard Anheuser, Adolphus Busch, and Adolph Kuhrs foisted this scam on a freedom loving people I will never know.

For a craft house, any Ninkasi product is a superlative choice.  For a mid size house I find the Lagunitas line quite credible.

Natural gas to be replaced with heatpump too.

If a full Powerwall doesn't get you through the night you need to seriously look at your "base load".
[...]

At night I have:
12W 12V outdoor LED lighting (9 x 1.2W running from a single high-efficiency adapter) [edit: corrected]
4W internet modem/wifi (with all status lights disabled)
18W freezer, 75W with about 25% cycle time.
10W fridge, 65W with about 15% cycle time.
8W standby central heater (I turn this off in the summer unless I need warm tap water)
5W phone charger (10W for half a night)
Total: 57W night-time usage.
a single 13.5 kWh Powerwall would last a me a 236 hour night.

nice setup.

my geothermal (ground based) heatpump/DHW system (3.5 ton) in winter is about ~3000 watts flat out (stage 2) during the night if the temps get near/below 0 F.

in the summer with it in AC mode (with desuperheater for DHW assist) only calling for stage 1 (~2000 watts) it will cycle slow enough even with 90s F at night for a powerwall to maybe last the night.. havent run the numbers but i do want a power wall with a sun tracking system.

so being 100% off grid at night will be hard for me.

EDIT geo system set to hold house 71 F day/night/summer/winter

Banks have enough money and influence to create their own version. And would not make some no name CEO of XRP super wealthy.

Too late.  I think that some of those pump and dump scumballs have already become quite wealthy.  Maybe it does not rise to the level of "super" wealthy, but it rises to a level in which the XRP insiders have gained a decent amount of wealth based on scamming.

For a craft house, any Ninkasi product is a superlative choice.  For a mid size house I find the Lagunitas line quite credible.

Both are good, Laugunitas is local to me, I work in the same town their headquarters reside (although that might not be accurate anymore, Heineken just bought them out.) In their early years I did my part to help them succeed.

But for us locals, we have a shit tonne of craft beer makers to choose from.  Bear Republic and Russian River kick ass over both Laugunitas and Ninkasi.  Anderson Valley is my all time absolute favorite.  Their Boont Amber ale is like nectar.

As for traditional American lager, nothing beats an ice cold Coors Light!  Grin

My American Beer of choice.

Interesting... Can't say I've ever tried it but I do appreciate the regular Sam Adams.

I also like Blue Moon as far as American beers go (I mean large-scale beers... There's a billion better microbrews I'm sure).

If somebody had to ask me what my favorite beer was, I'd have to say Guinness, because I went to Ireland when I was 18 and got to try one at the main brewery in Dublin. Nowadays they make me a bit bloaty but I will forever cherish them in the way that I cherish Pink Floyd... I don't listen to their music anymore but because of my emotional attachment to them I have to say they are my favorite band.

Yes, heating an AC are the big ones. I don't have AC, if needed I setup camp in my garage which always stays cool in the summer.
Off-grid with heatpump is almost impossible in the winter, I would need about 1/2 a Powerpack or 7 Powerwalls to handle a cold week without much sunshine, and ridicules amount of solar panels.
I am planning a 2000L hot-water buffer, connected to a back-up wood stove. During the day an air-water heatpump could slowly heat up this buffer using higher outside temperature and available sunlight, and I could then pump that buffer through the house after I get home and at night. 2000L of water is a very cheap battery  Smiley
I don't really care about break-even, the "ridicules amount of solar panels" only depends on BTC price.
