Probably not my most popular post.  Monday morning tinfoil truth seeking.

What is the probability that the US government’s big national secret is zero-point energy extraction?
If the military/government/TPTB have been engineering/reverse engineering energy and its applications in secrecy for 80+ years, would that undermine Bitcoin’s SOV and cryptographic security?  Surely the implications of such a technology are too vast to conceive.
I ask this question because energy is what BTC proposes to base sound money on. There's too many historical and theoretical examples of energy use on this planet to conclude that the current public/scientific understanding is complete.   I've not seen this argument debated however I understand its likely to be discarded to conspiracy for lack of proof even while the hard proof is literally in stone.

Well, at least they seem to get political decision out of vacuum (inside trumps head)...

Irony off: Zero point zero.
So you're saying 0.0 chance we have any better understanding of energy beyond E=MC2 ? Or more simply, popular public understanding.

I am saying that the existence of zero-point energy doesn't make it usable in the thermodynamic realm.
Otherwise, i believe in using gravity (and thus tide) as practically "free" energy sources.

http://charleshughsmith.blogspot.com/2019/09/the-black-swan-is-drone.html

"The mainstream media will be under permanent pressure to downplay the consequences of this attack, but the cat is out of the bag: the Black Swan is a drone. What was "possible" yesterday is now a low-cost proven capability, and the consequences are far from predictable.
This unpredictability alone should unsettle markets, as the risk of future asymmetric warfare drone strikes just increased to a degree that is difficult to measure or hedge."

Legacy markets vulnerable. Bitcoin not affected.

::Pretend to be Tera Post::

[...]

Price now has to follow the standard crash model, the current descending triangle will break down to support at 7.x (soft) or 5.x (stronger), plenty of bull traps along the way down to grinding on solid support (3k)

I've been waiting for $8,500 forever. So it would only fit if Bitcoin suddenly matches this while I am no longer waiting....  Cool

I think your scenario's sound very plausible, but have a very low probability of happening. There is too much bullishness around. Price can linger on for a while (more than a year if necessary) but a deep decline is off my list of probable outcomes.

Quick update on my bank situation. They booted me.

No real reason given. They demanded insight into my bitcoin transactions, I told them they get nothing bitcoin related, done.

This happened a mere few days before I'm going on a global tour, starting with asia, then eastern europe and finally south america. No big. I can buy plane tickets directly with btc, my only bills are my cellie which my family can handle from their accounts, there is the occasional btc atm around the world... it will be interesting to see how well it works to be bankless.

Presumably they will write you a cheque totalling your account balances so you can cash it when you get a new bank?

Asking for future reference.

For the moment I have simply moved my money to a family account. I don't intend to actually use that account for anything more than simply storing my money, but it is there as an extra emergency backup if needed. This is ideally a temporary measure. I have not looked for a new bank and do not intend to.

I don’t know exactly in which part of the world you are living, but unless very specific legislation, there’s nothing illegal about dealing with bitcoin stuff.
The resistance many banks are applying to crypto related business is not by law, but abiding to stupid internal compliance IKEA or moral susino by central authorities.
There are many banks out there, it will not take long before you find a new, better one!

She (for I am sure she was a 'she') disappeared at the sheer frustration of no one listening when she was largely pretty spot on.  She did very well by using pure TA on shitcoins and BTC and retired from her job at the end of 2017, I recall.

Everyone shouted her down, but I miss her.

Example: here she predicted in late 17 what the low would be after the top blew off as everyone was in full FOMO mode:

Looks like a good time to buy bitcoin??
You can scrape some more gains out of this rally but only if you can manage sell before the drop to $3K.

The best Cassadra the thread ever had IMO.

Forget the stealth bit, my shit is fully legal and as such there is nothing to hide. I simply do not like meddling middlemen who overstep their actual authority. But, yes, so far as possible purely bitcoin.

On a side note, the leadership in my now former bank has changed recently. The new heads do not have more than a year of experience in the banking world. It might just be a good thing that I got out now, rather than years down the road.
