The Fed emergency printed $54 billion this morning to correct the lending market.

The last time this happened was in 2008.

Bitcoin was born out of the last crisis and will prove itself in the coming one.

BREAKING: The Fed just printed another $75 billion to correct the lending market.

That's now 16% of the entire $800 billion bailout in 2008.

Except this was used in a single day, and in a "non-crisis" situation.

https://twitter.com/Rhythmtrader/status/1174300982769016833

Another 75 with 54 is not enough, the printers do not stop.

54 + 75 = 129

Sorry. those things don't add up as they are Overnight Repos: so the FED prints money in the evening, and destroys it the morning after.
So now they printed only 75 until tomorrow morning.

Explainer: The Fed has a repo problem. What's that?
Quote
In a repo trade, Wall Street firms and banks offer U.S. Treasuries and other high-quality securities as collateral to raise cash, often overnight, to finance their trading and lending activities. The next day, borrowers repay their loans plus what is typically a nominal rate of interest and get their bonds back. In other words, they repurchase, or repo, the bonds.

They return it with high quality products... Cheesy such as mortgages.
Banks are ruined, they have billions in their accounting notes, but, fictional.

The US Quietly Printed $75 Billion out of Thin Air (For the Banks). This Is Why Bitcoin Matters

Quote
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York very quietly handed out $75 billion in cash to the banks on Wednesday in a process known as a ‘repurchase operation,’ or repo.

Quote
This emergency measure hasn’t been used at scale for a decade, since the last financial crisis.

Almost all TA give a bearish scenario as a possible event, as shown here:

But, seeing it from another point, this is good, it may go down a bit, but the opposite will happen, sometimes the market does the opposite of what others think, and if they are governed by emotions the impact is greater, such and as Jesse Livermore (Speculator) said in his books, the Strong Hands always set their traps to hunt the STOPS and then it is very likely to see a bullish rally coming by doing quite the opposite of what others think.

Book club time. I downloaded both Permanent Record (E. Snowden) and Biodom's recommendation The Great Leveler (Walter Scheidel). Still don't know which to crack open first.

It's all fake compression right now...trading bots working overtime trying to keep the price from breaching the upper bound of the triangle (~$10,400 or so). They don't want it to go up (yet), because when it does break out they will lose control, other trading bots will start rocketing it higher.

Good fucking question. I'm pretty much limited to a handful of non-shit asian countries, eastern europe and south america. Hence my little tour of the world. Seeking a place worth living in.

Eastern Europe that's too poor to be in the EU? Ukraine... Belarus... I'm afraid those places are not too different from Russia.
For one thing, my money go further in poor countries. Thailand is literally a fifth of western prices for hotels, food, most stuff in general. It's cheaper to live in a hotel over there than in my local apartment, so why wouldn't I given that I don't need a job?

Secondly, the problem is not how rich or poor a country is but if it has a welfare state or otherwise socialistic tendencies. In Romania both nazism and communism is illegal by law. Because they have experienced it. All western countries essentially follow the same welfare model, and it is one of the main components in driving a culture towards communism. Capitalism is the only model that works.

As for Russia, it is simply too far north to be worth considering. Even if it wasn't full of Russians.

Anywhere not in the EU, US, Canada, anything muslim, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and China.

Not really sure what your beef is with EU, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. But nevermind. By far the greatest country to live in not in that list is Norway. Especially if you (plan to) have kids.
They are all welfare countries.

I would also recommend The Richest Man in Babylon (also available on youtube in audio format). Additionally, the pareto principle is highly relevant to the great leveler. Jordan Peterson talks about it, again can be youtubed.

Lot of questions about stock-to-flow going to infinity.

People don't realize that after 2020 halving #bitcoin market value will be $1T+ and after 2024 $10T, while USD monetary base is $3T .. so then people just stop accepting USD, like nobody accepts Zimbabwe $ for bitcoin now.

I think this response in the comments is reasonable...

Yes people, BTC will likely be worth 6 figures, 7 figures.. Even 8 figures....
But don't forget by this point a gallon of milk may be $5000, or $2.5M for a basic mid-size sedan etc etc.
It's not like prices are going to freeze as CBs inflate their currencies into oblivion

Indeed: if you are measuring yourself with a shorter and shorter meter you ain’t getting taller!
Same concept applies to money: bread isn’t getting more value in Venezuela because price is soaring...

There is no way for BTC to get to value in the millions without dollar losing value. As simple as that.
