ok multo multo boringo:

you may have noticed the halving is upon us
to celebrate, the otherwise pretty good nowadays @BitcoinMagazine is putting on the ritz with lots of wimminz in lightning network and other people in bitcoin

Thank you @Cobo_Wallet for helping us bring 21 hours of analysis, speculation, art and fun to an army of Bitcoiners during the http://BitcoinHalving.com live stream!
Folded hands Folded hands Folded hands
This wallet solution brings a security and convenience combo to Bitcoiners. Not your keys, not your coins!

yay right?
no sorry, no yay, because that cobo wallet that is sponsoring this wonkfest is even shittier than all your shitty hardware wallets (and coldcards which of course aren't as shit) put together.

Their heart is in the right place, but I do not recommend the new @CoboVault hardware wallet. It is mostly-closed source, uses non-trustable components, has a walled garden app ecosystem, and is made in China – with hardware design outsourced to a third party. Read more below.

indeed a thread follows with agreement from some other wonks that cobo is not to be taken seriously

The moral is: don't trust new hardware wallets, even if they sponsor seemingly respectable media. and #dyor
Made in chy-nah huh. As bitcoin becomes more mainstream, a LOT of people are going to get some nasty surprises.

So dystopian...
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-stock-to-flow-creator-will-go-dark-if-btc-price-hits-6-figures
Quote
For PlanB, despite the obvious satisfaction of BTC/USD increasing by an order of magnitude in line with stock-to-flow, the result would not be without its problems.

“I will go dark if the model is successful because if the model is successful, it will not be a pretty picture,” he said.

It will be nasty, it will (be) maybe war — people have Bitcoins, some people don’t have Bitcoin, it’ll be some countries have Bitcoins, some won’t have Bitcoins, it will be the U.S. dollar losing its reserve status, it will be geopolitical, it will be military.

So dystopian...

What a knob.

I wasn't interested in the first place but became rather less interested during this recent fall with him desperately shuffling his cards saying 'guys, GUYs, the model still works. Sort of thing.'

As ever it would hit $288,000 for 0.1 seconds and then be back to five figures or less for years on end. Speculators themselves can fuck things up without government help.

A little test fire to get things warmed up.  Carry on.

The SN4, the latest test version of SpaceX's Mars-colonizing Starship vehicle, aced a "static fire" Tuesday night (May 5), lighting up its single Raptor engine briefly while remaining on the ground at the company's South Texas facilities.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still trying to leave $9k behind but dirty little Vegeta keeps having a tantrum... currently $9196USD/$12950CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Let's at least get over $9.5k so we can take aim at 5 digits. This 4-digit crap is getting boring and the halving is getting close.

Go Bitcoin go.

I think his work is interesting but he shot himself in the foot by including price predictions. The story should have been about the cross-asset comparison framework in his last paper but since he put in $288k he basically destroyed his own thesis guaranteeing no one will care about or remember anything but that number. It's a huge red flag to me that he puts emphasis on price prediction rather than underlying cause and effect in what is billed as a scientific paper.

I’d rather go dark personally if Bitcoin goes $288k. Too much richness on display then.

We first have to find the resistance level..then we can build support. You are not wrong however..it might indeed be around the $9.4k to $9.5k area. You can see a previous s/r loci on the left side of this screen that we are now about to re-enter.

I'm not a big believer in TA when it comes to Bitcoin. This isn't the stock market.

I also like a slowish rise which usually takes the form of regular steps up with smaller corrections in between.

It just seems like we've been stalled in the $8.8k-$9.2k range since we barted back up from the covid-market-panic dip.

I guess it's only been a week but somehow it feels longer.

Yes. Patience is a virtue.

A good reason to never keep more than a small amount in any individual address.

Don't keep all your eggs in one basket. Don't keep all your baskets in one location.

Spread your satoshis around as thinly as possible.

What this person said. The more addresses you use to store your wealth the better, then nobody knows how much you actually own in total  Wink
