For the moment there it looks like AMZN, AAPL, MSFT, GOOG, FB and TSLA will soon consume almost all $$ in existence toward their market caps.
Not sure how to feel about it, but it looks like a giant sucking sound toward some kind of financial black hole.
The process, apparently, has nothing to do with fundamentals, just a manifestation of endless liquidity.

How btc fits in there? Not sure yet, but at some point it might become one of these centers of financial "gravity".
In such case, $1tril might happen fast.

Exactly my feelings.
And once the money printer goes slower or stops, just one whale decides it is about time to cash out his seizable positions and *puff* there goes the money into the bespoken black hole. Meanwhile unemployment is skyrocketing all over the world.

One could even argue these assets and BTC as well have not gained in value, it's the fiat that has lost (inflation). That said, I went to the big yellow M after months of lockdown, just to find out that the always same combo of trashcan food now costs ~30 bucks while before lockdown the exact same amount of non-toxic foodwaste was to be had for ~23.

I am sure 2020 will be a hell of a ride and the best is to come yet. But like you I can't really make up my mind what this means for our crypto moneys.

The question is-why btc does not act as an 'attractor' yet? Those 6 stocks "consumed" a few trillions in the last 6 mo.
The situation might become positively bizarre going forward. Why 3K AMZN? Why not 5K or 10K?
When will it stop? A few more tril are probably forthcoming relatively soon.

EDIT: today's spurt in btc (and many others) is correlated with this?

the morning wall report

Number observed going in the upwards direction...reasons?  Unknown.   There is some speculation about Chinese currency controls being the culprit however it could just be a technical recovery due to the long flat we just transitioned.   #dyor

Regardless, bitcoin has jumped up out of the channel we have been languishing in and is making a bullish move towards the upside.

Last night I had a long chat with a really good friend of mine, who lives very far away from me (he's Chinese Malaysian). He told me that he has fallen in a kind of depressed state, because of unstable employment, financial difficulties, family and personal matters. He sounded very depressed actually, long pauses of silence, to the point of losing hope for the future, and we all know where that can lead to... Made me very sad...

Many years ago, my friend bought nearly 3 BTC for $1100, after I told him about it, and recommending him to buy as much as he could. He wired the money to me and I bought 2.7-something BTC for him, from the very same Bitcoin ATM that I bought my first BTC for $220. I helped him over the phone to install a wallet, and transferred the BTC to him. That was to be my very first long-distance transfer! We were both really excited at the time, talking for hours about the tech, the implications, the possibilities.

Why am I saying all this? Because last night, just before hanging up, I told my friend that those 3 BTC will save his life. And soon. He was a bit reluctant to believe me (lost hope, even in Bitcoin), but the phone call ended in a positive note, thanks to Bitcoin. I'm really looking forward to the time when he will be free from wage slavery and be able to enjoy his riches (because 3 BTC will be a major amount of wealth, especially in Malaysia, and anywhere really). Told him to check out his wallet, verify the seed, make sure it's all OK (coins still in his mobile phone, hasn't even claimed his BCH/BSV yet).

Probably a boring post, but I just felt like sharing it here...

Much floafloafloa* to be expected, so bullish:

* Whenever I refer to the brrrr meme at home, I am educated by the missus that these printers actually are going more like *floafloafloa* (and that the *brrrr* probably refers to bill counting machines). For the sake of domestic appeasement and the integrity of my personal sex life I'll therefor use the *floafloafloa* acoustic expression to symbolize excessive money printing.

I might go a different way.

Probably best if just before you reach the moment of consummation you jump up out of bed and and do a Maori Haka dance. Then while making ferocious eye contact and chanting 'floafloafloa' get back into bed and continue your ministrations in an aggressive manner.

I have tried this technique and found it to be effective. YMMV

It's obvious that covid already mutated to facilitate it's own propagation. Not by 'choice', of course. It's a simple Darwinian evolution: those strains that spread better propagate faster.

In lieu of this, Australia efforts would, unfortunately, prove to be futile in a longer run.
My hopes are for the decreased mortality as this is secondary to virus infection/propagation ability.
Plus antivirals and vaccine, of course.

No immediate affect on bitcoin's acceptance.

The usa count of cases is absurd.  Counting anyone with any cold symptoms, and 15 or so others associated with as cases.  The death counts are also wildly deceptive, not only counting every cause of death as covid, but also death by ventilator, blowing out pride lungs, and discrediting/withholding hydroxycoroquine, having a 99+% cure rate.  One huge scam.

99%+ cure rate.  Where do you come up with that?  Why do you think almost all world leaders except Trump are taking this very seriously?
I know there is a bunch of bad information out there and numbers are manipulated, but I don't see how that really changes the reality of the situation.  In places where it's spreads efficiently there is a great suffering and death.

There is NO DOUBT this situation is extremely nuanced, and in my whole life I have never seen the world in such a state of hyper-politicization.  This is the BEST time to be a critical thinker who uses logic, and not emotion to come to conclusions.

It is certain that a major factor in the # of cases in the USA is we are TESTING (publicly) that much more than many other places.

Mortality also reflects this high testing rate, as the percentage of cases is going way down.

I agree hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic as well as an early treatment has been mostly ignored for political reasons.  This is insane.

The media of the US and the world has lost all credibility as they have become transparent in their divisive politicization of all things.

The government has ALSO lost a great deal of credibility for many reasons, a great example is the no-mask/mask about face.

Armchair quarterbacking has become a very busy sport.

All that said.  It is important to also face the FACT that Covid, in a small percentage of people, but in LARGE NUMBERS because of the high communicability absolutely RAVAGES the human body, and can do permanent damage to nearly all the vital organs.  Patients can be witnessed expending ALL their physical strength just struggling to breathe.  People who are otherwise healthy are taken out frequently.

I do not CARE if any government says to wear a mask, or not wear one.  I wear it myself, by my own volition.  I also am limiting my exposure to public areas.  i do not care if people think I am a sheep, or think I live in fear etc.  I just want to keep myself, and my family healthy, and the rest of the world for that matter.  It is a small price for me to pay to wear a mask when I go in public if it can even just POSSIBLY help dampen the spread of this and possibly even save lives.

People need to THINK.  And stop politicizing this as much as possible, in my humble opinion.

In response to @btcbeliever's claim that hydroxychloroquine has a 99+% cure rate

https://pharmaphorum.com/news/big-uk-trial-says-hydroxychloroquine-has-no-effect-on-covid-19/

Quote
The largest trial to date on hydroxychloroquine has concluded it has “no beneficial effect” when used to treat patients hospitalised with COVID-19.

As a consequence the multidrug RECOVERY trial – by University of Oxford researchers led by Professors Peter Horby and Martin Landray – will stop enrolling patients in the hydroxychloroquine arm, but will continuing treating subjects in the other five arms.

The 11,000-patient study comes on the back of a drip-feed of negative clinical results with the anti-malarial drug in coronavirus from smaller trials in coronavirus patients.

Last week, for example, a study also found that hydroxychloroquine had no benefit when used prophylactically in patients exposed to someone with an active coronavirus infection, while an earlier Chinese study in the British Medical Journal found no benefit in COVID-19 patients admitted to hospital with persistent mild to moderate symptoms.

high testing does not mean increased number of cases (on a relative basis).
Check here:
https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus-testing
Choose any set of countries you want.

let's see:
US, Russia and Australia now test almost exactly the same per day: about 2000 per million/day
However, number of cases per million are:
Australia 4
Russia 46
US 142

In other words, with the same testing per day, Australia has 30 times LESS cases.
Think about it.

Re politicizing-what is political about the virus itself?
It's weird to think that there is something.
The only thing to discuss are smart policies or a lack of those.
