So I look at the article/ video about BTC etf.
The woman says she thinks it is fatally flawed and that if btc goes up 🆙 your etf loses money if you roll it over to a new etf.
I get that part. but what I don’t get is how does the etf make a profit.
say i pay 60k for a 30 day etf based on 1 coin and in 20 days btc is 70k what is my contract worth?
I am thinking there is a profit level of some kind in the etf if you sell it before it expires.

It gives an ability to bet on downward BTC prices (against all of us bulltards buying actual bitcoin) without having to actually buy (and then sell) bitcoin.

how does the etf make a profit.
etf company makes profit on the fees. long term short makes the profit off of gullible long investors in such futures-based etf. that said, typically they allow them those ETFs to pop 50-80% initially to establish the short at better (higher) prices.

I did not know that there was any "they" that was "allowing".... go figure?.. learning a mile a minute in these here parts.

Before anti-vaxxers complain about the vaccine, those complications was a result of multiple myeloma, a blood cancer which wrecked his immune system and he was 84.
He didn't die FROM COVID19. He died WITH COVID19. Subtle, but important difference. 😬

@JJG "they" are obviously big money shorts who wait a few mo before establishing a nice fat shorts of those long investor killer futures based ETFs and NEVER close those shorts..ever. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad-just check the darned charts. What are you arguing about: words or ideas? I know...words, of course.

Yes... "they" wait a few months because it would not be as profitable to fight the trend. Last time I heard, the trend is your friend. Have you changed that, too? It would be funny if it wasn't so sad-just check the darned charts.
Futures had never been established in bitcoin, so there are no charts for me to check. Just letting you know. What are you arguing about: words or ideas? I know...words, of course.
Who's arguing? Uie poo-ie? You just said what you believe is going to happen, and why you believe it is going to happen and who is going to cause it to happen.. ... good job with your making of a prediction... now let's see if it happens, or not. That's the start of your having had become so damned jaded, perhaps?
No doubt. Jaded since a mere kid.. The math teachers stole your childhood. That must suck.
