I think I got your point, thanks. Removed image.  Smiley

It looks like you didn't. It looks like you've only edited your post, but the image is still on imgur and backups of the post (like https://ninjastic.space/post/60856382 ) still show the image.
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

JUST IN: Bitcoin mining difficulty has increased by 9.26% to 30.98 trillion.

@philipma1957 can you explain how it went up 9.26% suddenly? or I am missing something.

99.99% Uptime?

Where’s 0.01%? Why not 100%?

Yeah I remember there was an unexpected fork that happened in 2013 right around the time I was trying to figure out bitcoin.  It caused some downtime.

March 11th orphan blocks were slow.
Doubters panicked and let their Bitcoins go.
I took my chances
Took out all the loan advances
Now I'm holding for the longest time 😉

you got your fair reward for not being a doubter at that time

Sorry was just referencing a song from the time about the event you described: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NG1qooBzE2w

Apparently it was "scooping all the loan advances" I misremembered 😅

Good video.  That guy sounds a lot like Billy Joel too - great job.

Purchasing Power of the U.S. Dollar Over Time

"The purchasing power of a currency is the amount of goods and services that can be bought with one unit of the currency."Source

The purchasing power of USD has gone down over years due to printing of more and more USD currency notes. The decreasing purchasing power of USD can be seen from the fact that 1 USD in 1913 is equal to 26 USD in 2020.
In 1933, 10 beer bottles can be bought with 1 USD and in 2020 you can buy just a cup of coffee with 1 USD.
In 2022,
One can easily correlate his local currency with this USD decreasing purchasing power since the phenomena is same for all fiat currency. For example, in my country I can buy 1 large bread for 40 Pakistani Rupee 10 years ago, today its price is 120 Pakistani Rupee.
Only between 1929-1933 the purchasing power of USD increases due to deflation and reduction in new currency supply by 31%.
As governments print more and more currency notes without any barrier the purchasing power of currency is deemed to go down.

Image and info source

In 1933, the manufacture, importation and sale of alcohol was still forbidden in the USA and had been for 13 years.  It would have taken many years for the brewing industry to recover after that so the price of illegal beer in that year can't be used to indicate the results of inflation today.  Also, fucking nobody on this side of the Atlantic ever bought 10 beer.  If you have 2 or 3 friends over to help you drink it, it can't be divided evenly which results in unnecessary arguments, feats of strength and ultimately fist fights over the last beer.  This is why it is sold conveniently in multiples of 6 or in kegs.  Only a barbarian would buy 10 beer; f&@#in' savages.

Even today, Gold has 10x market capitalization of Bitcoin.

Have you looked at the charts recently?  it's more like 20x.. in other words bitcoin's market cap is about 1/20th of Gold's
You are right!
It's because of DIP.

selling to buy back lower seems quite dumb and like gambling.. even though some people (ie weak hands) do seem to roll like that.. they like to sell low and buy high.. hahahahaha
So true! It is like gambling. Or even worse.
Because Bitcoin tends to go up over time and never comes back to previous lows.
Like people are still waiting until Bitcoin came back to 1k in 2018 or 10k now.
It's high risk to lose many Sats.

To avoid falling for Altcoin lies, people need Bitcoin education. People who don’t understand Bitcoin will fall for Altcoin lies because of  pro Altcoin FUD.

In the latest crash, grandma did not even realize that her money was being invested into shitcoins.  She thought that she was buying bitcoin and earning a reasonable yield.  4% on Voyager.. while Voyager lent out $640million to 3AC based on 3AC's personal credit. .which $640million amounted to 58% of Voyagers total AUM.
Poor granny got rugged by Shitcoin scammers...

Let's do the math, because dollars make no sense when talking about a metal: $10,000,000,000,000,000,000 dollar and $55,000,000 per tons. That's 182 billion tons.

Now let's see what National Geographic has to say:
Quote
one geoscientist calculated that there are 1.6 quadrillion tons of gold in the core—that’s enough to gild the entire surface of the planet half-a-meter (1.5 feet) thick
Why bother with an asteroid, if the earth's core holds 8800 times more gold?

Probably unimaginable pressures, distance and heat not to mention radiation makes it unobtainable compared to space

I believe they are both practically unobtainable.

I wonder why we need to use asteroids and planet cores as evidence to show that gold sucks compared to Bitcoin... It's rather obvious, no?
