Any speculation on how high this bounce goes?
It doesn't look strong, but I never want to underestimate Houbi.

Personal guess is a grind up to around $480-$485 unless Huobi and Okcoin make their announcements and then Im thinking another $50 drop is likely.

Hello guys,
I'm french, ( french forum talk about everything except coins...)
-I placed an order at 448 this morning on Kraken, and I realised that it passed while I was eating at restaurant...I would have canceled it when I see how it's going down, but it's done, my first BTC !
So what would you do if you had about 950 dollars to buy BTC? Buy now ? Wait ?
1) Realize that this is your choice in the end. If it doesn't go the way you wanted it, you only have yourself to blame. 2) How optimistic/sure are you that bitcoin will rise in the long run, and by how much? If you think it is going to the moon, and you have the guts to sit out some bad weather, don't stay all fiat trying to catch the ultimate low. 3) You can do dollar cost averaging if you are not sure when to buy. (Buy $100 worth at the start of every month or so).

Last time I looked, fiatleaks was a pretty looking animation that was quite meaningless and misleading.

Hey, don't knock the V2. It was a brilliant piece of engineering and early aeronautic science. Just employed for, uhm, not so noble goals.

That's not true at all. Many felonies have been committed. If adequate logs were collected, many crimes could be prosecuted, and the criminal actors would meet justice. The only reason this hasn't already happened is because the governments hate the people. Why would they defend property rights of mere citizens? Citizens are for rape and plunder.
Ridiculous. The only reason why most bitcoin crimes go unpunished and victims get no reparation is that bitcoin was appropriated by rabid "libertarians" who hate governments, law, regulations, and police. The logical consequence of assuming that those things are evil is that "there are no criminals nor victims, only smart people and stupid people". The invariable response of the "bitcoin community" to each new bitcoin scam or heist is "stupid victims, they should have blah blah blah."

How does a hypothetical merger of any hobbled chinese exchange with the basket case of gox help? Will chinese government allow mainlanders to transfer money to that? Highly implausible. Time to look reality in the face.

Most countries apply laws equally to libertarians and non-libertarians. The rule of law doesn't end with people who disagree with it. Also, one could certainly make an argument that bitcoin was created by libertarians.

So here is your last chance to get coins for <500.00
You will never see bitcoin prices much lower than this again. It might go slightly lower and may even retest the last low at around 350.00 but this is buy zone if you haven't already. You can quote me on this and thank me later when we are at 10,000 plus in a few short months. China is only an excuse and mars can easily be reached without her. Don't believe the hype.
Where have I heard that before? Oh wait, $600. I heard it at $800 and even $1000 I heard it at $0.25 (per bitcoin), and various times after that. Sometimes there was an opportunity, sometimes not. Generally not. So "generally" we should all buy as much as possible especially on days like today. I am just trying to understand why it is so hard psychologically to buy on days like today. I was telling BitchicksHusband when he woke me up early this morning to tell me we should buy that it is a bit depressing and I almost have a feeling of "why bother" especially when we made some gains yesterday only to lose them all because of a bunch of stupid FUD. But I guess my bearishness just proves the bottom has hit! Buy, buy, buy!

Stop looking at it on a day to day basis if you cannot handle the volatility of price (not value).

This is purely and only, because the law enforcement authorities are not incentivized to pursue redress of grievances against the guilty parties. The obvious solution is political action, campaign donations, &c.

On-topic, are the books on huobi really that thin or are there only very many orders and wisdom gets lazy?

Most countries apply laws equally to libertarians and non-libertarians. The rule of law doesn't end with people who disagree with it. The domain of law enforcement effectiveness is approximately equal to the conditions in which law enforcers are incentivized to enforce laws. (What Jorge calls nonsense is in fact a direct consequence of common sense. That is not an uncommon situation, so I am un-surprised. His hatred for our freedom knows no bounds, and certainly will be undaunted by mere facts or logic. He usually manages a semblance of sanity until the his "libertarian" reaction formation is activated, whereupon all bets are off. I will admit that my language was baiting. It was also tellingly accurate.)
