Does anyone think that now is a good idea to buy? Ive waited for a few months like I was told and now this has reverse?

I apply this simple rule

how sure you feel this is the reversal/bottom/CCMF-begining ?

if you feel X% sure
then turn X% of your available fiat to bitcoins

for me X=25% now

Yeah, IMO you aggressive bulls are jumping the gun here.  We popped a bit which caused wavering fence sitters to freak out and buy.  We'll consolidate here for a bit, and hopefully trickle up for a month... this price action will start convincing the larger players and the media that the next run is coming.  But I don't think its bubble time, instead compare it to the rebound from 2 to 4+ (in early 2012).

Great way of putting it.

I'm more optimistic than I have been in more than a month, but I'm puzzled when I see senior and hero members talk about the next ATH rally after we just broke the first line resistance, one of many more that we need to go through, complete with many more chances to retrace (and flatline) again for long stretches of time.

Most of my smart chums that were still waiting on the sidelines bought in at approx. $420 in the belief that it wouldn't go much lower, if at all.

Do not invest more than you can afford to lose.  If you should decide to invest anything at all, buy it and hold it.  At some point you'll (probably and hopefully) have enough value to sell some, recoup your original fiat investment and retain a little coin as a long term investment.  Do not watch the charts every day and do keep your emotions in check.  If you're not a regular trader, charts can be very dangerous and very false friends.  Buy, hold, sell a bit when you can and keep some for the future.

That's my advice.

Also, don't listen to anyone's advice on the Internet. Wink

Just wait until someone tells you to buy. If it goes sour, blame him. If nobody shows up, and you loose, blame all the rest. It's brilliant, someone to blame in all cases.

This is good advice for someone who likes to take more balances positions than pretty much all in or all out.

Problem is if your a real bull or bear you would be buying/selling 90% of your fiat/BTC on most trades Cheesy

Confirmed, Having spoken with the CEO of Huobi and also the EU I have some interesting insider tips. Huobi will be closing after loosing ~600k BTC and the EU will also ban bitcoin every couple of days for 4 months. Sub $300 is possible Wink

this time, it's launching from 450

my question to you is, when are you selling?

I have a resolution of not selling any below 2000.

I think that's an easy one to keep because the sell zone in the exponential trendline starts at earliest +0.4 points and we are there earliest mid-July at 4700. If it postpones till August or longer, it also goes higher.

I aim to sell at the top only, probably starting at 3000 and when it feels toppy. Apr-2013 my selling plan had just started the day before collapse. Nov-2013 I was too early (675) but managed to sell in bulk. It is hard to know the shape of the bubble top.

The ambitious plan is to buy back the same number of coins in the following crash, and use the proceeds to finish the castle repairs and miscellaneous expenses.

sounds like a good plan   Wink

i wonder how this guys projected top is "only" at $ 1356 ??

http://www.geekcipher.com/technology/bitcoin-price-breakout-on-may-20th-2014/

my own guess is a top between $ 3000 and 7000 followed by a 60% drop

I agree with the prognosis of a top anywhere between 3000 and 7000.
I will not start selling below a certain price point, and I don't know how this guy came to the 1356$ ath conclusion, but comparing all the previous trends and bubbles,
there's no way this train will stop so low  Smiley

someone has calculated that in all previous cases the low after a top has historically always been between 1.85 and 2.2 times the previous high.

Since the previous high was about 1200 (not counting the gox price) the next low should be somewhere between 2220 and 2640

The next high should be somewhere between 4500 and 7000 or so, but most likely in the $5000 range with a good chance of $6000.

The worst someone can do here is tell others to buy and sell. That is up to you.

I think this too but the advice of many others months ago has saved me loosing 50% of what I have to invest. I make my own decisions still but there are others who know better. I don't listen to newbies for a start Smiley

Thanks for your input. I’m interested to know your thoughts on the relationship between adoption and price and how this may affect your strategy. So far it looks like adoption and price are following each other and with continued adoption it seems highly likely that the price will continue to increase.

So far however, buyers and holders of btc are mainly small time individuals. In the likely event that Wall Street comes on board a few large players could seriously disrupt this correlation between user adoption and price. If you are basing your selling on your trend lines and Wall Street moves in quickly isn’t it likely that you may end up selling before the trend line has been updated?
