Thanks! So GABI will be just another mysterious source of unpredictable disturbances in the fabric of spacetime...
... if that is what you take from it.. then so be it Jorge... so be it... What I mean is that we will not know when and whether they are buying or selling what. Perhaps they will invest the first 200 M$ into bitcoin mining farms, or ASIC manufacturing, or cod liver oil...

I think we will see something like Arbitrage 10.00% Fundamental 10.00% Momentum 10.00% Option spreads 10.00% (eventually) Pattern recognition 10.00% Spreading - hedging 10.00% Technical 15.00% Trend-following 25.00% ------------------------------------------------------------ Bitcoin + ecosystem 70.00% ( ish, maybe less, maybe more) Energy 10% -20% Precious metals 5%-10.00% Industrial metals 5% - 10.00% Maybe even a few pennies thrown at grains/livestock That would be my guess

Mozilla is releasing their $30 smart phone throughout India, Africa and other parts of asia, which runs BTC quite well. BTC was never a good idea for rich westerns, credit cards are better for almost all circumstances. The un-banked is where it is for BTC, especially since those cultures know very well not to trust their governments with their money, you think Indians buy gold cause it looks pretty?
Lots of people here seem pretty depressed about BTC at the moment, but if you ask me it is only just starting to find its feet. So you are not all going to be rich enough to retire in the next 6 months. Suck it up, this is not about you.
Nice vibe <3

How do I know that this isn't the bottom? Because less than 100 coins have traded on BFX in the past hour... (correction, we just got a 57 coin pump)... there is no volume, nobody is excited about this purportedly low price, and even the bag holders aren't doubling down anymore and talking about lowering their average price.
This along with the Junta periodically engaging in dumps means... lower, lower, lower!

So? You're not going to get rich overnight. Poor baby. Weigh your options, then make a decision. Being a little bitch is not only unbecoming, it means you have no real faith in yourself or your decision making. Worst case you lose some money. Big fucking deal. Best case you make some money......in your case you will still be a little bitch.

Have you really only been here since June of 2014? Are you one of "those people" that were just here for the "July/Aug Rally" and now it's not materialized, so fuck this place and fuck Bitcoin?

People learn and recognize patterns. Spending 20 minutes looking at the 30 minutes charts for the last month should convince anyone. I wish there was a site that would also show the buy/sell action, order by order, during a specified candle, as well. Yesterday, we had the 2k wall and only a tiny dump (600 coins?), apparently because no big guys followed his lead. Everyone remembers what happened nearly every day since June, especially the massacre at 500. As soon as they buy and the trend is up, 1000 coins are market dropped on the market and they are sitting at a loss. I suspect that it would take a 5 days to a week with no major dumps before buyers get any confidence that it is safe to buy. Until that occurs, down we go.

Where can I get historic data series of Bitcoin prices?
You can download price data from bitcoincharts.com, in various time steps (although for the smaller time steps you an get only a couple of days at a time). But, las time I looked, they didn't list Huobi or OKCoin. I downloaded from them several chunks of data about several exchanges in several epochs. Let me know if you you are interested. You can download Huobi's individual trade data from https://github.com/huobi/btc-trade-result-history
