There is no such thing as shaking out the weak hands.
I've been reading that exact same at least twice a week since we went down from $1200.

In a way you are correct but the same amount of weak hands buy those coins. The "weak hands" in general don't get shaken out. There will always be weak hands. If there was such a thing then there wouldn't be a weak hand left by now.

what I meant was - of curse we are not going $1200 any time soon, and that it was not shaking out weak hands before ATH or whatever (as a matter of fact I believe that is never happening, if I did believe it would go back to 1200, I would have bought as much as I can, loans and credit and held forever), what I meant was - shaking out weak hands after previous pump and before the next pump, and of curse I know that same weak hands that went short are now fueling this mini pump which should not take us above 380 but watch for a clear signs of top to catch that (we shall go above 360 we are already very close to that, we are now in a phase of shaking out same or fresh weak hands before the upwards movement, even if shaking out means back to 350). In very long term (6 month), I do not believe we will see way above 420 again. so if that is what you are waiting for, then you are screwed.
there are people who profit by manipulating the price in ways for maximum profit, I do not want to accuse anyone specific without proof, but you are referring to them as whales.
greed, human psychology is what is behind all of this, some people are smarter than others and know exactly how to shake out maximum out of the weakest (I consider myself one of the weak, lost 20% of original (amount that I can afford to lose every month) investment during 1 and a half month since I started trading, but I am not stopping until 100% is lost to learn the hard way - losing real money is painful and it helps me fuel my will to learn).

to sum up - there are 2 general movement directions possible - upwards movement and downwards movement, during those movements, there are some smaller or bigger moves in opposite directions which are intended to shake out the most out of weak and unknowing in denial.

How people can lend their precious bitcoin on some opaque exchange for a few bucks is beyond me. Today we will probably see a strong price increase due to closing shorts. Or more shorts being opend desperately to back up the already existing shorts which will expand the bear bubble even more.

you hanging around this forum means you believe it will reach the bottom and price will go back. why would the price go up? it means that we are in a search of new weak hands to shake out money from. if someone profits, then someone loses.
if you have another term for "shake out weak hands" (legally taking money from other people), then use it, but it is just there.

When it comes to Bitcoin, "weak hands" = "smart, rich hands."
