"In the email interview, Mr. Karpelès responded to questions about the company's solvency or protection for customers' funds by saying that the matter is confidential."

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1y8ot2/we_are_very_surprised_anyone_could_blame_mtgox/

If the CEO of an exchange cannot answer unambiguously the question of its solvency, then clearly it is insolvent.

In short, it does not matter if you have BTC or Fiat in Mt.Gox,  both can't be claimed by the customer.

I would expect the daily/monthly BTC withdrawals to be something like 10BTC/day and 50 BTC/month. Anyone with a large account will be stuck there for a long long time.

I am also predicting 10BTC per day. They are pretty much doing what an insolvent bank would do but without actually coming out and saying it. Prepared to be proven wrong on this but I feel very strongly because this is hurting Bitcoin and was entirely avoidable.

The simplest way to serve their intent is a % limit withdrawal over each balance. so they will screw everybody !

Withdraw fiat while you still can !

But what makes you think they have the fiat?

I want to make the world better than I found it

My 6 figure withdrawal got canceled within 24 hours by them, no email and in my trading history it said.
'Withdrawals to account **** are currently unavailable, please try again later or use another method.'
What fucking method may that be I wonder.

Now my withdrawal daily limit is zero a day in fiat. I am fully verified sent Govt docs to them ages ago. Disgraceful when they have collected tens of thousands in fees from me.

I dont care if they are doing the right thing behind the scenes and Karples pulls a fluffy bunny out of his arse, this let them eat cake attitude will only work for so long.

Can you provide a bit more info? is this a SEPA transfer? Have you made any transactions with BitInstant? Maybe your bank stopped accepting transfers from Gox?

Surprisingly I received the cash withdrawal requested on Jan15 today Feb19  Cheesy
I won't convert btc to cash under this circumstance, though another one still pending after being confirmed.

Current status:

BTC : 0-5 days suspended
EUR : 6 weeks- (SEPA)
JPY :  8days (JNB) - 25 Calendar days (other Japanese banks)35 Calendar days

SWIFT Wire transfer is in congestion.
USD : 4 month or more (shorter if you pay 5% extra) up to 7 months
GBP : 3 month or more (better use SEPA conversion)
CAD : 3 month or more (5% extra works as well?)

About how big an amount? It's been observed for months that little withdrawals are more likely to get through than big ones.

Someone thinks they're solvent:

http://letstalkbitcoin.com/e85-mtgox-and-malleability/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter#.UwQ7JV5sgfE

Unfortunately, that same something thinks it will take Gox 2-4 weeks to fix their code.  Kiss

Amounts up to 10k€ are working. First amount takes up to 6 weeks, next take minimum 20 days between.
I got a withdraw only 2 days ago (10k€) following abobe "rules"

What are those?

I just found out that my account has been blocked. They request AML (Anti-Money-Laundering) verification again. (My account had already been verified.)

There was no warning. I would have expected a timely email, like, "Dear valued customer, your AML verification will expire soon. …"

There is also no warning on the trading web site. Everything looks absolutely normal until I enter a bitcoin withdrawal order, fill in the amount, the destination address of another Mt. Gox account, etc., and finally confirm the order. Only then I get a message that my account is no longer working and that verification is required.

I have to deduce that I will also not receive an email informing me of the re-verification, so I will have to log on daily and attempt a bitcoin transfer to find out. Is there any quicker way to check for verification?

How long ago did you get your account verified? I didn't know you had to renew this task.. is there any other reason you think they might have done that to you?
have you used the site bitcoinbuilder or similar to trade BTC within Gox?

Long time lurker, delurking to throw another datapoint into the mix.

I initiated a withdrawal of a 3-figure EUR sum by SEPA on Feb 1st, and received it in my UK bank account yesterday (Feb 18th). Thankfully that was the only fiat I had on there, and I got all my BTC out before the lockdown happened. FWIW, I won't be touching Gox with a 10 foot pole until this shambles is resolved.

If Mark knows Mt Gox is insolvent are they not breaking the law by sending out SEPA transfers?
In my country you have to stop all payments once you know your company is insolvent so all creditors can be treated equally. Guess it could be different in Japan, but it would be pretty strange.
