So anyone who receive the fiat withdraw after today, please kindly leave a message here.

Especially anyone outside Japan

Some guy allegedly received SEPA today, but 1., no screenshot 2., that was initiated last week I suppose, not yesterday.
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Calm down people it's all fine , Gox have been leading the market for several weeks without withdraws and now they prepare to resume  without a site ... see their volume here : http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/ . Grin

A bit more serious, as i told you some weeks ago , the end of MT.gox with this misinformation environment and lack of consideration for their costumers can mean the END of btc.

We will have other strong digital currencies in the future, but different rules are needed !

Good luck every one

P.S.:Sturles come back i will forgive you !!!  Grin

Can anyone else check MtGox Android app? Is it really displaying some bogus balance, like for me? (1.3 instead of the actual 8.5)

So no one else can check the Android app?

I can use the android app, but nothing can be done with it.

The problem of btc is that it disappear without a trace. Gox is just another one among many others. At the end you you will end with a suspicion that someone somewhere stole un undetermined  amount of btc. I can bet that a anonym digital currency has no future !

Can you estimate how much client money Mt. Gox is still holding?

For the owners of that client money Mt. Gox is not yet history.

According to this: http://www.golem.de/news/bitcoin-geleakte-dokumente-belegen-massiven-diebstahl-bei-mtgox-1402-104774.html (its in german) rumors say MTGox has been stolen 744.408 Bitcoins and is also missing 55 Mio USD.

If that's true, they managed not only to loose their BTC, but also their USD. If that's true, it looks more like a planned scam.

They say:
Quote
Über Jahre hinweg ist die Bitcoin-Börse Mtgox über die sogenannte Transaction Malleability bestohlen worden. Insgesamt seien es 744.408 Bitcoins

It means, that there was a bug over the last years and Mtgox does not realize it.

No, they don't say mtgox didn't realize it. On the contrary:
Quote
"Dokumente sollen belegen, dass Mtgox darüber Bescheid wusste und ein Ausstiegsszenario plante."
says, they knew about the bug and were planning an exit scenario.

Was the source of that rumor not found to be a faked document? Was that not mentioned in this very discussion thread?

It does sound a wee bit unlikely that Mt. Gox does not notice such a massive theft. I guess though that it does not make much sense to discuss this, because we would only trade guesses in the absence of any hard facts. I also guess and hope that Mt. Gox will have to say something soon.

why doesn"t mtgox stay online and work on reducing their liabilities by buying on bitcoinbuilder?
they could reduce their liabilities by more than 5 times what they would reduce their funds

Exactly. No use guessing. Either we'll get our BTC back, or some of it, or none of it. Guessing won't change the outcome.

Anyone work out what manner of thing the script does yet?

just for analytics.
I thin they have a loadbalancer and the two servers have different code.
