Is the sending address a known Gox address? If not it means nothing because anyone cant send coins to it.

To the multitude of smarter folk out there am I right or wrong?

Edit: Smarter or in this case smarter and fast at typing folk. Dang beat me to it.

Anyone have an opinion on this?  Someone on reddit claims to have linked the 2011 Gox reserves confirmation transactions to addresses currently holding 200,000BTC
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1z3cni/proofs_that_gox_have_at_least_200k_btc/

Sounds plausible, but if the leaked document is accurate, Gox has over 700K BTC in liabilities (and just 2K in its hot wallet).

Not sure who you're meaning here, but personally leaning towards believing the recent reddit theory..getting my tinfoil hat ready as I speak.
So saying tho, I don't think the US Govt has any great habit of returning seized funds. So I'm inclined to believe that they are willing to screw over all of the customers in order to bring down the SR guy & also anyone else in their site. Which if rumor is correct, also incl Karpeles.

Yo donk my brother, are you on any conspiracy research forums?

I am.  I have many names but they all know me.

This forum is like the wading pool, in terms of true knowledge.

It is pretty funny that they had less in their hot wallet than many customers had in Gox itself.

Sad.

I have quit reading this thread due to high volume and very low signal to noise ratio.  Just stopping by announce that my 10k EUR withdrawal from January 4th changed to pending today, and will arrive tomorrow.  I have cancelled my other withdrawals to buy BTC.

Huh, Mr. Sturle, not so vocal anymore? How did your smartness turn out for you?

Sorry, just can't resist...

Interesting theory in reddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/1z2xo5/speculation_the_us_government_has_control_of_goxs/

and twobitidio starts to doubt his sources as well:

Wall Street Journal ‏@WSJ  3m
Breaking: Mt. Gox has filed for bankruptcy protection, a company lawyer says. http://wsj.com

How Ripple Rips you: "The founders of Ripple Labs created 100 billion XRP at Ripple's inception. No more can be created according to the rules of the Ripple protocol. Of the 100 billion created, 20 billion XRP were retained by the creators, seeders, venture capital companies and other founders. The remaining 80 billion were given to Ripple Labs. Ripple Labs intends to distribute and sell 55 of that 80 billion XRP to users and strategic partners. Ripple Labs also had a giveaway of under 200 million XRP (0.002% of all XRP) via World Community Grid that was later discontinued.[29] Ripple Labs will retain the remaining 25 billion"

Strange that twobitidiot affirmed to me just 4 hours ago he was absolutely sure of his sources: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1z5fwe/who_is_ryan_galt_the_devil_you_know/cfqpv2c - the tweets are from 18h ago.
Hmmm, he says they are correct based on his sources, not that his sources are definitely legit.
But that may be looking too much into it.

Either way, more rumors..
