How is redemption becomes an ICO ? There is no pricing involved . SPR is already exist and tradable . It is a market-driven asset. What an ICO mean is a certain asset is being offered at an initial price that is dictated by a developer or backer. There is an 'I' that stands for initial. And helium to my mind is mineable thru X11 algorithm and it is not being offered. Ok,maybe I wasn't clear in my post. I never said Helium redemption is an ICO. I certainly don't think it is.But maybe China will consider it one...idk,I can't speak for them. That's why I used the conditional term "unless ". But thanx for your ICO definition

I just want to post a quick summary here - someone please correct me if any of this is wrong.
1. Snapshot conversion from SPR to HLM will occur sometime (probably) in next few weeks. There will be some sort of announcement. 2. SPR currently for sale only on Bittrex
Please help me clarify the following:
1. What's the best way to hold SPR for the snapshot? Just on Bittrex? Desktop Wallet? What is the best way to hold HLM post-snapshot? 2. What should i watch for the snapshot announcement and other info? link? 3. How many HLM will be required for a masternode?
Im interested but at work right now and thought id just post this real quick. Im sure many of these questions are answered here already but i have not found them in the replies yet - sorry
thanks!

1. Best, most secure way is in a wallet to which you hold the private keys. This ensures if Bittrex doesn't happen to facilitate the snapshot that your coins won't accidentally not be a part of the snapshot. 2. Slack is the best place likely. However, I am sure that the date and instructions will be made plenty clear here as well. 3. 1000 HLM will be required for a masternode.

On slack channel there are limited information of when really is the snapshot, coins101 drew some flak because the devs are not consistent about the launch. It was really scheduled last August then it was postponed to this month without specific date.

To avoid gross price manipulation I can respect giving little forewarning of the snapshot, especially with how long the announcement of it occurring "sometime" has been out. With that said I'm a little concerned with the apparent lack of updates regarding it, considering they already set and delayed one date I'm certain they don't want to do it again, but really even giving a window of a week or 2 as a committed timeframe would be nice. I've seen past splits and swaps go silky smooth or be completely unhinged, hopefully the helium team is REALLY getting their ducks in a row.

I think I'll buy helium after its appearance on the stock exchange and a sharp drop in price due to a discharge after distribution. Good luck with the project.

Seconded, I hope, that price will be more cheaper that SPR now. But exchange will available maybe not so fast when MN.

This is only a speculation, but in my opinion is similar, the current SPR price is the combined price of HLM and SPR. I would think after the snapshot, SPR price will go downhill and HLM will start somewhere lower than the current SPR price. Better to buy after the snapshot if you don't want to keep the SPR anyway.... However, there is a risk. HLM maybe won't be available on exchanges for a while and you won't be able to set up masternode in the beginning.

The Spreadcoin dev is throwing away any future for the coin by being tight lipped. That might be intentional, maybe he has no intention of keeping the project going?

Both here and on slack seem to be so quiet about snapshot or should I say snapshit. This has already been postponed and yet another month and half passed, there is no sign of progress . What keeps holding it? Limited response by the dev makes us concern.

Think this too. The price of Spreadcoin is only this high, because of the coming helium snapshot. After the snapshot spreadcoin will get dumped to its original price.

1,92 USD.. not that high anymore
At the time of writing it is now $1.80, or 44k Sat. It is worth bearing in mind that, before Helium was publicly proposed, SPR was trading around 33k Sat. I believe that it will initially drop below that when there is a mass sell-off after the HLM snapshot, but probably bounce back to a bit above 33k after a little while. Note though that I am not an experienced trader and this is just a guess on my part.

you do realize that spread was around 5-25 cents a coin most of 2016? (5k to 10k sat when bitcoin was less than $1000)

Whoever said Spread was 5-25 cents in 2016 isn't looking at the fact that the crypto market and btc also had a market cap of less than 25billion and now is over 160billion with hedge funds looking to get in. The crypto-currency and blockchain utility market is still in its infancy and large brokerage houses are saying it will be at least 5 trillion by 2024. 5-25 cents means $2 is realistic in todays prices and if helium succeeds in its utility factor of securing the power grid and having a noncompetitive head start in the market as an innovator... it will be a solid play. If Utrust and Plex coin (hopefully not a scam) gets to market, people will be able to have their favorite crypto and buy anything they want as quickly as a debit card. In a couple years this will be main stream and blockchain will be in everything even if people don't know about it. Look at bank of America who has dozens of blockchain patents already and XRP being awarded country contracts. Being skeptical is good but there are some just plain of negative Nancys here...

Any news so far on the snapshot?
Is it guaranteed to take place this month or is it likely to be delayed further than that?

No, still nothing, or at least no announcement in Slack either. It is still promised for this month, so it will be done within two weeks..... (or another delay)
