Has anyone heard if smOS is going to add nvidia and cpu mining anytime soon?

Did asked him -- but he said not on top of his priority at the moment.
I have small NVIDIA farm btw.... running Windows and fullzero's nvoc linux.

Does nvoc have remote management similar to smOS to control rigs? Also have been checking smOS for the new SRR and still not released yet. Am looking forward to getting one with a couple of the expansion boards. Thanks
[/quote]

According to fullzero, he is working on some management tools for people who have multiple rigs.

I have SRR in my farm too to manage around 33 rigs - pretty good this SRR - the farm is 99% up and green every day.
[/quote]

I have a bunch of Router resetters from other projects that power cycle when there's no internet connection  -  which obviously doesn't do anything if miner gets hung up.

So SRR can actually tell if the miner gets hung up and will reboot the computer?

Thanks -

@Vyper    Yes. smOS has a built in monitor that sends keep alive packets to the SRR so when they stop the SRR reboots the rig

smOS wouldn't work for me, I'm running all nVidia ATM - I do have 10 RX 470's I yanked that are just in a drawer now but I don't see them being used because I just keep filling empty outlets with more nVidia's as they become available.

but I just add nvidia's  tomorrow a 1080 ti is on the way.

I think SRR works independently of OS because it works on linux and windows too.

I believe Tytanick's mentioning about linux SOCAT package to be installed in Linux so that it can facilitate "I am alive" pings to SRR.

I guess if your NVIDIA linux build has SOCAT package installed it may work.

I am just speculating  Roll Eyes

Now THAT would be awesome! Make it extremely versatile. That also means that it should work with nvoc... food for thought.

this is about

1400  for 1080ti
  350  for  1080
 110   for   mobo
  40    for   ssd
 110   for   psu
   35   for  ram

2150 with no sales or deals     I think a pandaminer is now  about 2500 shipped to usa.

this will do say 1700 sols for zec  at 500 watts at kill-a-watt-meter   and be quiet .

the panda miner will do 2300 sols at  1100 watts maybe 1000 watts and be loud

Is 1080 half price of 1080Ti?
 note correction made

 the 1070 mini is 350 at newegg

the 1080 mini is 500 at newegg

1080 mini

so left to right:

msi aero 1080 ti --------  msi aero 1080 ti ----------- zotac mini 1070  or 1080

and here is a great psu to run 3 cards  very good price.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA07236V1499

these are really good  do not worry that they are rosewill  they are a higher quality psu
Hey Phil sorry I meant to ask you this, when you orient left to right, what is the "front" of the rig which would dictate where left is

I was reading this thread (pretty sure it was this one) very late last night and thought I saw someone talking about getting the 1080 TI's to 1000MHs on Skein with a custom miner they had to compile, but today I cannot find that message. Does anyone know what I was reading about?

yeah  I do

you can approach 1000 for skein     975 to 1025  depends on your cards

Yeah, I have given numbers for the other cards for the most part, but havent had a 1080ti myself to play with..... just yet....

The A/V production company I work for is going to invest heavily in TI's for machines to process videos for their productions, and the 99% of the rest of the time they are going to be mining... so I sit here patiently....

 I'm not sure that Zotac is short enough to work (it's only about an inch to 1.5 inches shorter than most 1070/1080/1080ti standard-length boards), but the Gigabyte ITX does work as it's almost 2 inches shorter than the Zotac.

 $350 IS a sale price on the Zotac, but it does seem to spend a lot of time there - the Gigabyte https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125893 is normally at 380.

 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128976  is what's going into my next rig (should have the parts mid-week) - I think it's a slightly lower-cost varient on the board you linked for a 3-card build.

 I went with a pair of 1080 instead of 1080 ti, and a Seasonic X-850 (overkill a bit for the cards I'm using, it would be enough for that pair of 1080 ti and a 1070, but I'm also running a higher-end CPU for my BOINC work which balances it out some).

 I *ALMOST* went for the EVGA G2-850, as it was the same price, but I have a longer history with the X-series - the EVGA would probably work as well though, for those that prefer EVGA or if it was on sale for less than the Seasonic.

 I believe the Skein miner mentioned was the "Alex78" ccminer version, which does have a compiled Windows binary out there somewhere if you do some digging to find it.
 I saw over 600 Mh with a non-optimised 1080 in some brief testing I did last week with it - noticeably better than the trpu (?) ccminer 2.0 version.

What are the best tools to monitor a mini farm setup / ensure you have max uptime

What are you currently utilizing?

 I mine ETH on ethminer.org, ZEC on flypool - pool-side monitoring works pretty well there, and my rigs are stable enough for the most part that once or twice a day checking is plenty.

 The heat wave this weekend/now and the other one about a week and a half back though have been murder on my R9 290 hashrates - AMD drivers for LINUX won't let me underclock them so they end up in thermal-limiting due to the limited ventilation on the place I'm in right now in the worst heat of the day (it's supposed to cool off again Wendsday though, and I'm supposed to be able to start moving into my new place not later than Thursday, so hopefully the NEXT heat wave will see those rigs in a place I can keep cooler).

Hey Phil  do you think   that short gigabyte is a better choice?

yeah  it is shorter  then the zotac  1070 is

I also see the mobo he picked  is 9 dollars cheaper

all 3 gigabyte  boards  I have are good.

b250

z270

aorus z270

So his pick should be good.

I ordered the gigabyte  it is 349 at amazon  I am going to put it in the katana build.  card comes on thursday.

Hello
could you explain how you do that ?
would be very interesting

When I get home I'll edit this post with everything you need
edit: okay here is how i use it
claymore ethman comes with a sample.bat file you use it to look like this

Code:
@ECHO OFF
Powershell.exe -executionpolicy remotesigned -File  C:\minerTxt.ps1

then the powershell script needs to look like this

Code:
#Variables
$email = "myTower.local@gmail.com"
$phone = "8508491985@txt.att.net"

$ProcessActive = Get-Process dsNetworkConnect -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
if($ProcessActive -eq $null)
{

$EmailFrom = $email
$EmailTo = $phone
$Subject = "Claymore Miner down"
$Body = "Check Miners!!"
$SMTPServer = "smtp.gmail.com"
$SMTPClient = New-Object Net.Mail.SmtpClient($SmtpServer, 587)
$SMTPClient.EnableSsl = $true
$SMTPClient.Credentials = New-Object System.Net.NetworkCredential("myTower.local", "Passwordgoeshere");
$SMTPClient.Send($EmailFrom, $EmailTo, $Subject, $Body)
}
