Some people actually run farms with hundreds of GPUs: mining has been around for 6+ years, so a few had a chance to build quite large operations. It could also be rented hashrate, people buy it from sites like nicehash, in some cases (especially with new coins) it's a better way to accumulate large number of coins than going to an exchange.

Yes Sir, probably rented HR, haven't think of that.  736 pieces of GPU rigs seems strange anyhow for one farm, and I only see these extreme numbers on Suprnova BTG pool, so could be the devs of that shitcoin inject some of their profits back to keep things shiny:)

So I've been mining zcoin for 2 days now but still only getting about 3/4 projected results

Averaging above 13MH locally on ccminer on the rig

According to whattomine should get above .9 a day. . . . Only getting about .7

I'm in illinois using ccminer connecting to miningpoolhub.com

Dashboard still showing just above hash my local rate usually. . . Still making more than zen but it's close

Whattomine is only a estimate don't take it for exact.

I get plenty of blocks. . . . and the estimates have been constant for 2 days

I'm way under

Saying calculators doesn't work is stupid. They do obviously . . .

you must be new to mining, welcome.
Whattomine is way off most of the time and not only with variable difficulty coins. Do the math and you will see.

A guy with 1 less Ti than me just posted himself getting more than me on the same exact pool on the same day.

Again people saying that calculators don't work or the math doens't work are idiots

That's only true if yu're looking at BTC/USD value.

They work just fine for normal coin returns unless it jumped to the top of the chart., . . . .

Clearly there is some issue with my set up here.

Stop fucking saying that stupid shit. At least half the time you're wrong

you are the only idiot here, wake up kiddo. We are not saying they dont work, we are saying they are off most of the times for many reasons. Again, just do the math instead of spreading your ignorance.

Do you people not understand what i got here?

He linked the same day, the same pool, the same coin with less hash and had 25% mroe coins.

Anyone who says calculators don't work?

Straight up retarded. Math works you just need enough blocks to make it true

Go off yourselves you stupid cunts

*spits*

Fucking worthless plebes. Have no idea what their own rigs are doing. . .. . Have the balls to come in here and tell others what their rigs are doing.

Think back to your fucking education. Nothing has changed you dumb bastards. Useless sloppy white boys

Being half white that would be difficult in any context even if i said something actually racist

Just pointing out the obvious

Sloppy white boys talkign about things they don't understand. . . .

Are all white boys sloppy? Obviously not

its such a shame the older 280s and hawaii cards are such good quality and well made, the newer
rx seeries are total trash quality wise i have like 10 cards that need to be ramed, from exploding capcitors or broken fans.

The few vega cards I have seem back to the strong quality of builds solid ass cards with good backplates and nice wight

I think the 1070s and rx series are budged cards and the manurfacturing processes reflects that

and the best part is that you can buy them second hand for 100-150$ without fear of them ever dying on you,all you need to do is change fans on some of them eventualy

Maybe you got unlucky. None of my Polaris and Pascal cards failed after more than a year of non-stop mining. I did have a couple of Tahiti cards fail though back in the day, there were problems with VRMs overheating on Gigabyte 79x0 and Sapphire 79x0 cards.

This only works if your electricity is cheap and you have plenty of it. And only if the profits are high, like they are now. I did play with the idea of buying those old cards used, but after taking everything into consideration it just didn't make sense. When a new 1060/3 (with 3 year warranty) can be had for less than $200, buying old power-hungry Radeons for $100-150 without any warranty... nope, ain't worth it. Your mileage might vary, of course.

Depends on power cost and if you need to optimize your space or not.  7950/70/280x are really decent equihash miners, say 300sols for an acceptable wattage once modded

Still remember the period when second hand amd cards were roing in less then 30 days on zec,1060 you can get under 200$ in usa probably in eu they are more then 300$.Agree on the power problem but large scale miners     have some sort of industrial cheaper power or are based in countries with low power cost

I have mine mining monero, they're not that power hungry on cryptonight only pulling 1kw with 4 7990's or 8 280x more than make up for the power cost. On equihash they do get super hot. I use the nvidias to mine shitcoins for quick bitcoins for trading.

yes) nvidia cards are really more convenient now if your choice is to mine alts
it is more balanced rather amd. but vega is the monster for cryptonight algo!

Nowadays, more and more optimized miners are entering AMD GPU, so I think that soon they will not have any significant difference between NVidea and AMD GPU.
Take, for example, the optimized miner LYRYV2, which is faster than the analogue nvidia

What miner ? Because my AMD still suck big time with Lyra2REv2. The only things I mine with them since last summer is Ethash. I tried CryptoNight  and a few others but always came back to Ethash.
I think this is the miner you guyz talking about
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2360168.0
but I might be wrong and there is another one, more powerful?

Oh yeah, that's what I meant by this miner!
It's very cool to increase performance.
If it were possible to optimize the main miners in this way, then we would get a very decent performance gain on many algorithms.
I hope somebody will ever do it
