Hello Ek, coralreefer, unvoid and byrallier

Thanks for ur hard work.

Can you please provide ur xel addresses here(or send pm). I would like to donate some xel. Also will donate for bounties in future.

My XEL address is in the sig. But remember that there will be some fund solution in the future. Thanks for all donations!

Thank you guys for all the hard work you've put into this project.

And thank you by rallier and unvoid for providing your XEL addresses, so a grateful community can donate for work well done.

EK and Coralreefer, could you please add your XEL addresses to your signatures, so we can donate for all the work you've done to make this project a success.  Without the pair of you giving up your valuable time and dedicating so much of your lives to Elastic, this project would very likely have turned to ashes.

Donations at this point are for the work done to bring us to where we're at today.  In the near future, there will be a foundation (or similar) set up to reward work going forward.

710 BTC is too little for this project, developers should have another one, or it's NOT fair for developers, if developers stop to do development, price will drop to Zero.

Likelihood of developers stopping increases proportionally with all this annoying fund talk.

Other than that: I do not want to play any role in anything that goes beyond coding, but from what I read occasionally I would really suggest to improve the quality of the communication which goes outside of the project. If I didn't know better, I think I would get a pretty bad image of Elastic quickly.

Just a suggestion from someone who observes  Wink

EK lots of people are ready to market this coin, I have been educating people in bitcoin meetups for a long time here in Amsterdam about it but we would need some help from the team for convincing arguments because the technical details are not really widely known even in this forum. There was a paper that is a bit outdated comparing it to gridcoin and golem but a new one should be written as a basis for solid arguments.

As an example, elastic can run parralel code where other projects run the same code on all nodes in ethereum? Is this a valid argument? Also ElasticPL that is C like is a big argument and I am using it too.

Also it's more generic use as the others that are more focused in rendering etc.

Can someone make a list of the most important differentiation points here so we can use them on tweets or reddit etc?

There was no ICO, but a donation. Check info about it in the OP.

I have added my XEL address to my signature.  As most of you know I work on Elastic because I find the concept interesting, not to earn a paycheck, but I certainly appreciate any donations.

But please keep in mind there is no guarantee of future work...I will continue to work on the project as long as I find the work interesting.

Wtf are you talking about? The coin is already pre-mined and these devs already have a huge share in it. And you're talking about donating them?

Why you're doing this? Coin is premined because it's pure nature of this kind of coin to be premined (PoS NXT based). I don't know how many XEL have the rest of the dev team but I bought my share with lot of money.

You know @EK? People say we have big stake in XEL. We are damn rich!

Right. Saying it's "premined" makes it sound like the devs set aside a chunk for themselves. This couldn't be further from the truth. 100% of the coins are distributed to donators. It's one of the most fair distributions I've witnessed since Bitcoin.
yes, I agree. Could we change " premined " to " all distributed". People have a bad taste in their mind from the word " premined "

Yeah, "premined" essentially meant that devs preminded POW coins, horded them and launched then. So that the "public" allready got a coin with a relative high difficulty and big parts of the supply in the hands of the devs.

That's obv something different.

I was asked a question in Russian section if traffic (specifically a password for an Elastic wallet) can be intercepted even while using HTTPS protocol with full SSL by a theoretically malicious server owner? Smiley
I personally trust you guys, but you can't expect everyone to do that...

As far as I know, "man-in-the-middle" attack is impossible here, but a password can be caught by keyloggers on the computer of one trying to connect to such a server.

We set all full secure ssl etc.
But Everything is possible. If you are worry about something please go set up your node (server or local computer possible)

Should be possible with ease! If a malicious node hoster implements some sort of a key logger into the node's JS/HTML (which should be pretty easy) you will be pretty much screwed. Even if he uses SSL.

So, never use any untrusted node at all!

Is this XEL simmiliar to GOLEM project or is it different?
And if yes what are the foundamental differences if any?
Could anyone answer in short words?

Bump

Golem, at the moment, has fixed usecases such as image rendering. So if you want to render your image, you can use Golem. If you get the brilliant idea, that you want to factor a large number or solve the statisfiability problem of a large CNF formula, you obviously can't use Golem.

Elastic works differently. You do not have fixed usecases but instead a powerful programming language, which let's you create your own use case. So to coming back to the example from above: you want to factor a large number or solve the statisfiability problem of a large CNF formula? You just go ahead, code your algorithm in ElasticPL and let it be solved by the crowd.

Thank you EK.
