I think some altcoins have a really bright future ahead of them like ETHEREUM,ETHEREUM CLASSIC, MONERO & LITECOIN. All these altcoins are very progressive and you can expect great growth from them.

Of course all altcoins have a future, but it was depending on the developers of altcoins if they continue support their coins. Moreover most of the successful coins in the market were earned a lot of supports from the developers also in the people who trust with them.

I don't know if people will still support Ethereum Classic if Ethereum continues evolving and being adopted by companies and solving current technology problems. I think there are a lot of interesting projects going on. I really like Ethereum and I am trying to get some more knowledge about coins that use a different technology (not blockchain), subh as Byteball.

Well alts are getting loads at the moment, just see STOX with floyd mayweather endorsing it. In the beginning bitcoin didn't have media attention, and first attention was bad one, his it's used for illegal activities. I think that some alts will be here in the future, not all of them of course, but some will be here. When I already mentioned illegal, maybe we should think which coin will be suitable for that. Monero, zcash, or some other that offers more anonymity then bitcoin, that coin will have a bright future for sure. And to add that for 5 years altcoins will have big media attention too, just wait and yiy will see.

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.
What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?
I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.
If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.
yes they have future as long as the bitcoin and cryptocurrencies or alt coins is still selling well at the market they will have future or maybe a longer life. it may depend on people who prefer crptocurrencies or alt coins if they use alt coins the price of that alt coins can be sell higher if they market it well there still hope for other cyptocurrencies or alt coins dont worry about it

Not all, but some altcoins may have future. New ones also may appear in the future and it can be very progressive than what we have today.

Its funny, was thinking this at the end of 2015. Answer is yes. We'll see coins bring together markets, and then new ones appear. Think of Delta Skymiles, you earn and use those on a lot of platforms now. That doesn't stop, Amex from creating their own rewards program points, and could work a deal with Delta to then accept each othes. A strange metahpor of what i think occurs in alts.

It took bitcoin awhile to become established. Once we stop viewing a coin as an alternative then it will have made it. When the coin can stand on its own in the world.

Maybe altcoins not for long term. But i think for eth would be nice for long term. Because it has a very good potential of other altcoins

Why not. If we look deeper into the meaning (and history) of money, we'll see that everything can be money (and money or what we call money can be different). A lot depends on certain projects, techniques. Let's not generalize (anything) too much.

I am sure they have. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency. But it doesn’t mean that it won’t give space for others. Take a look at Ethereum. It has its own niche on the crypto market and provides competition for Bitcoin. And this is good. Healthy competition is always good.

ETH, XMR and ETC seems to have a great future ahead and apart from this coins I don't have faith in any other altcoins as they can disappear at any point of time and I truly believe that ETH can give tough competition to bitcoin in future.

Sure it does. Everything can have opportunity. Nobody is perfect, not a thing. There's always flaws in everything. Maybe someday bitcoin will crash and here comes these cryptocurrencies, to fill the gap left by the bitcoin. But that's only a chance, there's no certainty on things. This may happen or it may not.

obviously a ton of them will not have a future because the devs will end the project but many will survive. there is a lot of room for a lot of currencys and a lot of projects for people to speculate on. I would not worry to much about it

yes i agree it is all called a belief.we dont really know what will happen in the next 6 years from now.and everything is only depending on how cryptocurrencies rise.and i think it is going to rise if it is currently having a great demand.

Not because they are alternatives you cannot see future in them or call them shitcoins. Well alternative coins have future also. I will give you a concrete example of good alternative coins. Look at Ethereum right now. It was once 20 usd if I am not mistaken last December 2016? And now, it is worth $230 now. See for just 9 months it became that much. But that is the price of Eth right now, last time I checked it was once 300 usd. But still, bitcoin is the king. It will stay in its throne for a long time.
