For those who know alot about bitcoin will not give up so easily because cryptocurrency all started in bitcoin and because of bitcoin many people can transact things so easily and hustle free.  Also the value of bitcoin will not always the same so other people know that and they use it as an opportunity to save bitcoin when bitcoin is low and wait for the time to rise it back again.

usually people will hold bitcoin when prices go up or down, when prices go up they hold bitcoin because they want to get more profit and if the price goes down they also hold because they do not want to lose and wait price back up

they do it for sure. they believe it could be because of betting on luck, it could also be because they have analyzed the market interest. Moreover, interest in bitcoin is growing, investors are increasing. then most likely the price of bitcoin can be greater than this.

why are they holding?
for money, money is why we are at bitcoin. i can see that holding is not a bad move. if bitcoin will fall it is definitely a bad move but knowing that bitcoin price will rise again it is definitely a good move.
why are they holding. because bitcoin price/value haven't achieved their ideal price or you could say they are just greedy.
