I'm not fully updated about the current condition of the system but, based from what i've observed i don't think that it's in a critical situation. I guess the reason people hold bitcoin can be for investments and because they are waiting to sell their bitcoins when the price is at its peak or is raising.

I think the following are the reasons why people hold Bitcoins:
1) To sell it at a higher price when its value reaches the peak.
2) To let their investments grow on its own.
3) To have a backup in the future in case their other businesses do not work for them.
There may be other reasons that are personal to these people. Hence, we need not dwell on those any further. That being said, I think it is safe to say that the above list is not exclusive.

Today I sold BTC0.115, which was around 6% of all my coin holdings. There was no financial crunch as such but I thought that I would diversify some of my investments. Got around $835 for the coins and I invested all of that amount in equities. Not that I am saying that equities are risk-free. But I wanted to distribute my risk and diversify my portfolio.

Some people hold thier bitcoin amd not selling any amount of it because they believe that bitcoin price will increase after they bought it in its current price. Holding will give you huge profit , but you must wait for it, the right time. |

Sadly most people hold their bitcoins in the hope to sell them at a higher price than the one they bought it at. As for me I am not in the use case. I have to save up a certain amount of bitcoins for a certain date next year, irrevelant to the price of one bitcoin at that time.

Of course to earn something big by holding bitcoin along with some patience. When you look the current trend that will give you the answer why we were holding. Its not ended any way i feel. Its more to earn for current holders of bitcoin. Minimum investment is also earn you something you cannot warn from other sources I hope it will not make you lose if you choose right time to buy or sell. |

People are holding Bitcoin because they know that it is going to become the world currency replacing the government controlled money and of course because the price is still very low raported to the limited supply(21 million) and looking at price action history we should see it close to 1 million dollars in few years.  |

Yeah. I am agree with you. The price of bitcoin is in ups and downs for two weeks when you made this post. It's a general fact. As bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, it's price may rise or fall down. You are afraid at this fact. But the other people don't have this fear. Because they know that the price has fallen and it will rise soon see the current price. So they are not ready to sell their bitcoin. Moreover they are buying bitcoin more and more. Because they are used to this circumstances and they know how to handle this.

The price of bitcoin may be increases or decreases it depend on the luck of the people or the popularity of the bitcoin.
