I think a lot of people hold bitcoin in the hope that bitcoin will be more expensive in the future and by the time I post this bitcoin price is $ 6,455.70 will probably go up tomorrow.

Holding the Bitcoin is the best thing to do right now as the price is rapidly increasing. Today the price has increased to 6500 usd that's amazing and I wouldn't be surprised to see it reach 7000 usd before new year. Happy new year to the people still holding the Bitcoin  . |

It is obvious that bitcoin is currently a good shelter since its value continues to increase in opposite to fiat coins. In addition, people are not encouraged to spend bitcoin because of the very high fees they have made over the past.

They just trust the stable bitcoin price growth, whether its slow or fast. that's not the problem for real holder of bitcoin. It count as long term investment too in their mindset. that's what i thought tho  and one more, they believe in better future ahead with bitcoin |

I am holding bitcoin for capital appreciation and trading it in altcoins to make more bitcoins maybe other people are using it for mediums of exchange but others are also like me believing in the potential of bitcoin to gain some wealth in the future by means of bitcoin prices going high

Exactly, People are holding Bitcoin because they see this alternative asset that rapidly growing and definitely can beat inflation. Investing in Crypto currency is still considered unconventional since not all economist and big investors are convinced. Regardless of big investors like Warren Buffet thinking that Bitcoin is just a bubble people are still getting in to it because no one person can stop Bitcoin. They think that in the future it will be really expensive. |

They hold btc because they wait for the btc price to rise to take as much profit as possible from the difference between the buy price and the selling price. it is one of the basic strategies in the world of investments be it bitcoin or other commodities.

I think they are hoping to earn a huge amount of profit like what the early bitcoin investors did and because it becoming more popular globally they saw an opportunity for bitcoins to become expensive within the next few years. It's just like saving your money but continuously growing more than saving on a bank but also has a risk.

I think you already know the answer to that question.
But still, i'll tell you my own opinion.
The main reason why people are holding bitcoin is their aiming for much much higher value in the days to come.
Getting bitcoin is not that easy, if you are achieving it through campaigns. We invest our precious time and effort. Hard work in laymans' term.
Isn't it that obvious as to why we hold on to bitcoin?

People hold bitcoin because it is still increasing, means that it could make their profit grow larger. Like in its early stage, investors bought it and trusted that it would increase its profit through time. Which really paid off and this is what pushes other individual to buy and hold bitcoins.

If wanna simple say they holding bitcoin in this critical situation because of they waiting for when the Bitcoin price up than they could take their profit through selling Bitcoin. |

Most of the people are holding the bitcoin to gain a lot of bitcoin by waiting because the value rises really fast. 3 months ago bitcoin was worth only 2k and now it is 7k. That means they made a lot of profit by doing nothing.

A lot of people are holding bitcoin because they see that the price is increasing. So why not keep them and sell it when the price is really high. This is what the majority do.
They buy bitcoins and they wait for it to be really high so they can sell it and gain money from it.

As far as i know people holding their bitcoins is because they know that the value of bitcoin is continiously to increase people want to get a huge of money so thata why they are favorite to hold their bitcoins because holding bitcoins is the smart and the best way. |
