What makes people hold bitcoin? Uh.. not sure.. maybe because bitcoin is the most tried and tested cryptocurrency as of now.. and maybe because bitcoin is always the crypto that receives media attention.. not sure though. /s

Why Bitcoin holding Bitcoin? I think Bitcoin exchange is the factor why they choice to hold a Bitcoin. Why? They wait the time that the amount of Bicoin getting higher for them to get a high salary or income. For example in the Philippines, many Bitcoiners hold their Bitcoin and they wait the time that the amount of Bitcoin get high and when the time has come they will make a move to exchange their Bitcoin to Peso for them to earn great amount of money. I think that is the reason why they hold their Bitcoin currency.

Instead of keeping your money in the bank and hoping for an interest of max 5%, you invest in btc in order to have the chance to multiply it.

This is a reason why people prefer to buy bitcoin and hold it instead of having their savings in the bank. The small interest given by banks only gives you meager profits, unlike with bitcoin wherein it has the potential to accrue and accumulate. As we can see by judging the price charts, bitcoin continues to experience a price increase throught the year and the trend continues to go upward.

I personally hold bitcoin in the hopes that its value will be very much higher in the future. For me, it is my key to financial freedom.

If I think in the world of bitcoin especially buying and selling coins or altcoin there is one term that is hold. Hold is one way to wait for price of coin to have the rating or price rise.
Suppose we buy BTC at price of 5000 $ and then we hold for a few weeks, months and finally coin goes up at $ 5500.
if price has gone up we can make a coin sale in order to make a profit

Only long term investors hold bitcoin right now because they believe in bitcoin and they know that these hard forks just effect bitcoin for small interval of time and then bitcoin get back to increase it's price in market soon. Short term investors makes decision earlier so they may sold their coins or may exchange with ETH or LTC. Bitcoin gold and bitcoin2x become competitors for bitcoin in coming years.
