Maybe because of this, they are taking on VISA:

1 gigabyte blocks? what do these people know that almost everyone else who's ever looked at bitcoin do not? does it require one of their $20,000 nodes?

it's one thing to make it happen in a lab. it's quite another when you have to stretch it across the world a few thousand times all at once.
Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

There will be no inflation at high rates, but it is still interesting for buying and selling, depends mainly on other Bitcoin forks too as mentioned above in comments.

I agree with the distribution phase idea, and wonder what the low price point will be when it's done...

Although the price is important, you actually have to look at the possible mindset of any holders who are not exactly staunch Bitcoin Cash supporters. Bitcoin Cash may see a slight rally coming up, as the impending Segwit2x fork draws closer. However, many may simply chose to get a hedge on this expected event by converting their BTC to fiat or other alts, so the rally may be tiny. Once the Segwit2x fork drama is in play, if it is not going well for the other chains, expect this rally to continue, and this will probably be a good time to consider accumulating. However, if it appear the fork is going well for either new forks, expect a dump of BCH. Many people have decided to HODL the original BCH that they received as a hedge for this upcoming fork. Once they feel they have the "all clear" signals after the fork, they are liable to feel they no longer need the hedge and dump. The other dumping phase will begin after Coinbase distribute the BCH to their users in January. After this all plays out for a couple of weeks, I think the accumulation phase for Bitcoin Cash will definitely have arrived.

It seems like you've thought this through, but please allow me to interject a few points as well.

If Kore's 1xBTC fork dies in a death spiral, which really could happen due to sudden hashrate loss and/or an attack from miners, this will cause a major loss of confidence in BTC as a store of value. Sure, people can say "Oh, BTC is 2x now, we knew it all along.", but what about those who lost funds being on the wrong side of history clinging to their 1x coins? Those will be practically worthless!

Personally, I started losing confidence in BTC 2 years ago when it became clear that the scaling wouldn't ever get done. That's what created the whole market for alts IMHO. And that's why BCH has tremendous potential to pick up where BTC left off - with 8x the transaction capacity with 4000x lower fees.

Of course all the Kore minions will be emotional. But what choice will they have? Follow the longest chain supported by the most hashpower, or be left behind.

I just synced my Bitcoin Cash wallet from 23 hours ago in 6 minutes. That's a lot quicker than Bitcoin!

Admittedly there are few blocks than Bitcoin to be downloaded (to be fair), but still... its fast. Not Litecoin fast, but quicker than BTC.

$20,000 is cheap compared to a $300,000 Dash Masternode.

The race to digital cash is on!  Will Dash or Bcash win?  Will having the highest CONOP (IE least decentralization) be Dash's secret weapon? Grin

Craig Wright: Dash and BCash Compete for the Same Vision

Craig Wright indicated a friendly competition between Dash and BCash as both seek to replace Bitcoin’s vacant throne as king of digital cash payments.

In a debate on Twitter over scaling Bitcoin for fast and cheap everyday commerce transactions, Wright, the chief scientist at nChain, maintained the need for instant and cheap transactions in order for it to be useful for point-of-sale transactions:

The method for this result preferred by Wright was reliable zero-confirmation transactions, which may not settle on the blockchain immediately, but still are reliable to be trusted when broadcast for smaller amounts. Dash can be used in this manner as well, except has an added benefit of the InstantSend* functionality, which uses masternodes to lock in a transaction until it has been confirmed by miners, ensuring that the transaction will definitely settle.

*Months ago, InstantSend was hacked and for the safety of the network completely disabled.  Despite the August announcement of a supposedly-existing but never-actually-available hotfix, InstantSend remains broken and will not be fixable in time to keep Evolution on schedule.

Hm, no, something weird is going on. A lot of buy orders coming in at Kraken, super fat. Bitfinex is also adding up. Maybe a big pump is coming!  Huh

Nothing just another attempt to get new bag holders look at hash power how long it taking to generate new block. Duno why people have so much high expectation from this coin even they know what is fate of this altcoin.

in that scenario i would consider any coin that was descended from bitcoin a failure and would never have anything to do with any of them again.

it doesn't matter what the lead coin is, the same politics and people would infect it and the process would start over and each time it would get weaker.

better to wash our hands of bitcoin, take the lessons it taught us and move on.

I do not know if it will be relevant, but maybe this apart from the next hardfork is another reason why they sold a lot of alts and bought btc. Will they be remedying the ruling?
