Can someone give me fresh nodes to try for worldcoin as I can't get any connections.

It's the same on my laptop too.
Neither can I. A valid node IP would be great. Anyone?

Anyone?

Did you deleted the "conf" file? Ask support, that was the answer they gave me. I have 8 conections now.
Before that it was moving betwen 0 and 1 or 2.

My qt build from the first page didn't even come with a .conf file in it.

Can someone please give me and de_xt a valid node IP? Then we can add it using the addnode command. You can bet there are other people having this same problem

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204894.msg2177180#msg2177180

I'm up and running, mining at wdc.dontmine.me I hope this helps.

Thanks very much, but still at zero connections.

This seems weird, how long do you keep the qt running? usually within 1 min you should get some connections. If not you can use addnode in config file to add explicitely some neighbors.

Maybe a very basic suggestion, but do you have the correct ports forwarded? For me it changes the connections for 8 to around 60.

The developers of this wallet did not "hardcode" the IP address nodes, (the other wallet computers running, your peers) ... into the wallet, IMHO, so that the cry of "pre-mining" by a reserved group of people with special knowledge and special access to the development of the coin could be avoided. In other words, the genesis block of the new coin had to be developed first, so that IP nodes of other clients would be available to connect to, to get the engine, the PeerToPeer node action on the network started.

The others coins has it on the code? I mean, CNC, FTC, etc.

The worst enemy of Bitcoin is Mt.Gox exchange.

I dont know what the quoted guy talking about. The genesis block is a block used to "boot-up" the whole chain, it defines the Merkle root. It has nothing to do with any IP address out there, lol.

Despite some new coin launch, the WDC network hash rate still at 919Mh/s now, what a faith people put on this coin! It's been very very strong since its launch.

That's because the coin is actually useful when you do transactions with it. It's extremely responsive, and hasn't been spoilt with over mining like FTC, CNC, and others.

Are there any WDC mining pools that don't need stratum, other than p2pool?
Just need something to point minerd at without having to install a proxy.

I do not understand you people.

The 15 sec blocks do not provide anything useful. You will need 40 confirmations to have the same security as with 1 bitcoin confirmation (assuming equal hash power). Why are people so excited about this coin which provides nothing new?

OMG guys having your transactions going through in 10 seconds, is NOTHING NEW! Every single currency is doing it! Yes 100x because we need bitcoins super security so nothing can be unencrypted for 5000 years, when you will only live 80 or so. Once a transaction is fully confirmed with 4 confirmations, can you go back and change it?

If the answer is no, than that's secure enough. Bitcoin is over secure and useless for real world transactions, it's over encryption is not needed. We people do not understand you.

first of all, 51% attack is virtually impossible given that the hashrate of the WDC at this time. Second, if someone gets 51% computing power, he can likely change the future, not the past. To do past, he needs to perform all the past crypto work, with 1% in advance, how long he would take to catch up? Moreover this is true for any coins, not only WDC.

yes it can be reversed, have you heard of the 51% attack...? additionally, you didn't answer the question. why would anyone use worldcoin, if it provides no advantages over bitcoin and bitcoin already is much more established and accepted by merchants?

Some people are just a bit thick, no other coin is doing transactions as fast a Worldcoin atm. That's it. Trying to derail that fact with BS about security and hypothetical 51% attacks is just pure trolling and not needed here.
