Have you ever made a withdrawal from Stake without doing 1× wager of your deposited funds? As the other people have said above, this isn't a new rule. But they have added the progress bar recently. I can't remember it properly that when I had faced this rollover requirement at Stake for the first (and only) time. Most probably it was 3 years ago. My withdrawal was pending without getting approved, and the live support agent gave me two options during then. Either I have to complete the remaining rollover requirement of the deposited funds, or I have to complete the KYC verification to receive my withdrawal.

Yeah the addition of the progress bar really was necessary. You always had to guess how much wager you have left to complete the rollover but at least now you know. Another site that has this is BC, I guess longer than stake. The even have a rollover tab where you can see the rollover requirements for deposits but also bonuses and so on.

After deposit, there is a wagering requirement of 1x the deposit amount to protect against money laundering.  Because if not, many people will use these sites as mixers. Any illegal money deposited here and then withdrawn will change the route of the money so that it cannot be tracked.  And that's why they keep this basic wagering thing to filter only the real gamblers. It is very small for a wagering gambler so it is not a problem.

It's no news that most casinos require you to at least wager 1x of the deposited amount before you can withdraw, but what I can't agree to is that they are using that to prevent money laundering, how? If you have put that in the head, even if you were told by one of them, I advise you to delete it ASAP, it's just a flimsy excuse.

Even the KYC casinos do that, so what is the purpose of the KYC? If there's any party benefiting from the condition, it is the casino because you have a high chance of losing the money before the requirement is met, that's the purpose.

Suppose casinos would indeed want to help in the area of anti-money laundering, they should ensure that the withdrawal is only returned to the deposited account/wallet, which settles it as no one can indirectly mix the money that way.

A few months ago someone asked how to make a parlay bet on BetBuilder and I'm not sure if someone has answered it so today I just realized it and just tried it
Basically for this bet Stake applies a limit only 10 options so it doesn't matter if you take it from 2-3 matches which is clear only for 10 options as the screenshot

This is a betting feature which is available on Stake called by bet builder or Same game multi where you can make a parlay bet contains of several market on a single match. You can simply check one of the match you are going to bet and take a look if the same game multi feature is available or not because as long as I know is that players cant do it in all matches but it is available mostly in popular sports/leagues. The post above yours by bitcoinhunt3r is exactly the example of what you are asking about and he did even combined 2 different matches.

At Stake also does not allow you to make regular multi bets like when you bet 1x2 or other markets on a multi slip. But you can do it by using the Same Game Multi feature provided by Stake. It allows you to bet on several available markets in one slip which you would not be able to do if you chose a regular bet.

I think he just misunderstood or not aware of this feature especially for those who are not very active in sports betting, at first glance they think this is a parlay bet whereas in parlay betting you are not allowed to take 2 options in the same match well obviously he wondered why someone would make that bet. Another reason is that a few years ago Stake removed this feature and then made it available again with a different name from BetBuilder to Same game multi so some users may be a bit confused. Previously I have posted this topic but in a different mode, I just found how to make parlay bets using this feature (BetBuilder) and I'm sure there are still many users who don't understand this one, that's why I posted it here yesterday. My suggestion Stake should add different colors on this feature or make it look different from other options.

That's cool. I am also at stake what feels like forever, 4.5 years now or so, crazy. I never got an affiliate deal or whatever, which is a bit frustrating since now there are great deals out there. From where the money is is quite easy to answer. Giving you double level ups is basically sharing their affiliate benefits. When somebody wagers like 1 million to reach platinum 3 for example that gives good benefits to the person that referred them, especially with "good" aka high losses. It's not a big deal to pay someone 1600$ when the total benefit from his/her action is much higher.
Also, let's be fair, often enough players register, deposit and play some and then quit fairly quick. The streamer still gets their benefits but never has to live up to the promise of a double level up since the player is already gone.
