I don't think it will last that long 100years or a century. There be new ones that will come out soon maybe 50 years or as early as 20 years from now that will replace the place where bitcoin is. That is possible and that is reality works. We can't change the fact that change is the only permanent things in the world.

As the developers continue to upgrade and withstand any incoming threats from bad sectors of the digital world. Maybe forever as it is the father of all cryptocurrency as long as the digital world exists it will too.i think that the new generation will give more preference to bitcoin.

I think bitcoin still remains after 100 years because many know bitcoin and many bitcoins benefit so I think it will not disappear. A lot of things can happen in just a hundred of years, that is too much time, and it is impossible to predict how long can bitcoin last. And we can not even know if bitcoin will survive by next year, it is not possible.

To think about whether it will exist 100 years is waste of time in my opinion. The developments in the crypto world are always fast and innovative. Perhaps there will soon be a new development that will replace the crypto currencies as we know today.

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
As I really can't predict the future,  I believe that anything can happen within that period, there is a saying that everything thay rises eventually falls, Bitcoin is the major crypto currency at the moment but I believe that as time goes on,  another will come which will be more profitable to people and they will flock towards it abandoning bitcoin.
I'm also not quite sure how long bitcoin can last, obviously we all definitely want the bitcoin to last for a long time. bitcoin proponents believe that the bitcoin will dominate the global market.

if you look at the state of bitcoin today I'm not sure bitcoin coin will last up to 100 years because currently the price of bitcoin tends to decrease, but I still keep a bit bitcoin although I still doubt my current action. hopefully bitcoin can go back like years ago.

Bitcoin will eventually collapse completely and be forgotten. This is a very likely result, but its price bubble may last for a long time and may appear in 100 years.

of course it is, think about other currency it survive more than hundreds of year, because it is useful, it is used for our daily life. so if it was still using after 100 years probably it is still alive and survive. i cant imagine how much the value of it, but sad to think i dont know if im still alive when it reaches 100 years. lol
You're right, maybe 100 years later we're gone, but we believe Bitcoin can be a new payment instrument.

Agree with one of the answers (but also questions as well), Bitcoin will survive as long as computer devices & Internet survive, but would it be the form of bitcoin? Or other crypto would replace it?

certainly, over time, bitcoin will continue to survive because bitcoin is in great demand and the price will continue to grow along with the demand, which is why I say that bitcoin will keep on

I think bitcoin will only exist for 25 years. I thought of that because there are still plenty of possibilities to upgrade or replace it by a better one with more layers of security features.

Do you really care about it? OK, if you are a devoted parent you might think that BTC coins that you earned can be used by your kids and grandchildren. However, everything here seems to me so vague. Blockchain will sure live, but as for Bitcoin...Who knows?

There are many unforeseen future and all we need to do is follow the flow. It may take hundreds of years. It may not be And when it comes to it. Probably we are gone and will become a story. Our children may also follow the paths we take and also order them to be their children.

Do you have an alternative to internet? Ever since the world wide web was created by Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau in 1989, there has been no successful attempts to replace it. It has survived for 30 years, almost without any significant competition. I guess in the future also, the status quo is going to continue.

For now it's too far to think about it and it's a waste of time, because nobody can predict it, and I prefer to think of where I can work more with Bitcoin so I can get maximum results too.

I don't think that Bitcoin survives 100 years later, and it is certain that virtual currency will exist.
