In 100 years there will be only bitcoin and several altcoins. I think that the centralized currency will disappear completely. The world is changing and soon bitcoin will become a part of the economy of every country on the planet

There are many things that may happen in the future. All will be possible whatever it may be. As long as people uses bitcoin, it will survive. As long as it will be used properly, people are still making investments in here and it will still satisfy the needs of the people.

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?

After 100 years, the world will be completely different. Everything will be in inclined in the the digital world. I think bitcoin will remain but its value will increase.
According to me bitcoin will have a bright future and I am suggesting this from the previous history of bitcoin because the rate of bitcoin is increasing more and more and this is the proof that bitcoin is improving their performance and this good performance will make the future of bitcoin bright.

The world will be very different in a 100 years. Bitcoin might survive, but probably in a slightly different form than nowadays.

Countries will probably start making their own cryptocurrency at some point, for more control. I know Russia have some plans in that direction.

The future of bitcoin is very unpredictable. No one even expected that the value of bitcoin will rise this high within a year but still it happened. What more in the following years, maybe bitcoin will become part of our living already as it continues to innovate to adopt all the requirements the world is needing. We should keep on supporting bitcoin so that it will last longer which will also benefit us as time passes by.

I do not subscribe to your supposition. Remember there were centuries a long time ago wherein gold was the acceptable payment all over the world. Who would have thought that it would be replaced by traditional fiat currencies? To think that gold still has store value as it used to, who would have thought it will no longer be a means of payment nowadays? Hence, this is what I see with traditional fiat currencies and Bitcoins alike. Times will change and so does the need of mankind. Hence, we can never foretell how long Bitcoin will make it.

I don't think so. Every day, month, or year there are new things created. New technology. New environment. Changes is the only thing that never change. People nowadys become so agressive in knowing new things specially when in terms of earning. I think bitcoin can still be replaced. But we will never know unless we live 100 years from now.

It all depends on the world economy at the time. Definitely the world will move from paper money to digital currency. But whether Bitcoin will still be around is a very though question.

I don't think it will. There is too many problems with it to work as mass market currency. Maybe as a asset it will still be around. I'd like to think that by then we would have a digital currency for all our needs. Probably not bitcoin though.

The cost alone of printing currency is ridiculous and then think about the costs associated with a business taking cash. Best thing my business ever did was to stop taking cash.

No one that has seen this post, will know the answer to this question. I think maybe the name will not remain the same, but logic will definitely survive. In my opinion, the probability of not surviving the normal curriencies are higher than crypto.

I do not know, because no one knows and no one can predict the market movement. maybe if 10 years to 20 years we can still do a little prediction, but if 100 years I think it's too long.

True, it's too difficult to predict 100 years more, especially if there is war North Korea Vs. USA, then everything becomes chaotic and maybe bitcoin disappear faster. I'm also not sure bitcoin can last up to 10 years again the most important is we get profit.

It is true.  Many things will happen to bitcoin when it continue to goes up.  As to will it survive it could be.  It just needed support for its price to goes up amd for it to stay.  But due to its price it could go down or just maintain its price.

We cannot say what will happen in the future. But seeing the popularity of bitcoin,we can say that it will survive in the future. It can give competition to fiat currency but cannot overtake it.It has left behind all the cryptocurrencies today and is on the top of the list.Price is rising day by day so the users of bitcoin are also increasing daily.Period of digitisation is going on so bitcoin is now being accepted but not has been legalised in many nations. But maybe in the future it can get legalised.
