I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?

I think bitcoin after 100 years is become worldwide well known currency not only used for any person but for all the people actually using this, because of no hassle when it comes to make of any different kind of transaction like making money from bitcoin or any kind of transaction  or bills payment through virtual digital  currency. that's why we are here to always support bitcoin until it is going to serve for every mankind
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

In a society where everything changes very quickly I can not believe that bitcoin survives after 100 years, by then I think we will have another reference currency
No one will never know what happen in next 100 years. But for now just enjoy the bitcoin that we have. Just learn more bout bitcoin so in near future we can share our knowledge to the next generation until 100 years will come.

I don't think that bitcoin will survive after 100 years. Bitcoin is one of the best cryptocurrencies in the world. It's price is increasing day by day. People are using more and more bitcoin and it's business is increasing a lot. But that doesn't mean that it will last for 100 years. As the the technology is developing day by day, some new technology will develop which will take the place of bitcoin. It's so challenging for bitcoin to survive and maintain it's place for 100 years.

I do not think bitcoin will survive for more than 100 years, the value of bitcoin is always changing, at present, it's price has dropped by nearly 50%, the big bitcoin investors have sold it, I think will end in a short time.

I can't agree. Cryptocurrencies became very popular nowadays.Especially bitcoin, which is the most popular one. I think it will survive even more than 100 years. It will become much more important in future.

I am sure that Bitcoin will survive for 100 years. Therefore, it is possible to leave a legacy in the form of Bitcoins to his heirs. Grin

I think to be able to survive up to 100 years is a difficult thing, as it happens today that very few companies can last up to 100 years, government-backed companies are very difficult to survive let alone bitcoin that get banned many countries.

- I do not think so, bitcoin will still exist because it is a technology, technologies often exist in a long time, wanting to disappear is a very difficult thing but market demand will probably decrease after 100 years, the value of bitcoin will drop significantly and the new technology will replace the position of Bitcoin. However, I think we should not expect too much about 100 years later because we also do not exist, we will disappear before that time, accurate predictions also do not help us, it is better to think and look for plans for the present, that is probably more reasonable

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
I anticipate it still exists or will appear another alternate bitcoin. But 100 years later, you are dead. If bitcoin still exists, it does not make sense to you. You should evaluate the existence of bitcoin for 50 years

of course, you have noticed that bitcoin over the last two years is only about 400k bitcoin value, but now after two years the value of bitcoin is 800K twice the value of it over two years. How much more then if it Of 100 years, likely millions or more become value of bitcoin because of the increasing population in the world

Surely it will continue, but nobody knows bitcoin is relatively new and with the passage of time will be becoming more solid with respect to many points to become a strong currency.
and every time more people invest bitcoin

I do not think bitcoin can last so long as it can be replaced by better altcoin and attract the community. But now it is difficult to say which altcoin can replace bitcoin in the future.

I think the number will not only be 100 years. It have to be at least 500 years because Bitcoin is the currency of the future.

I doubt that Bitcoin will even die out. However, another coin might take its place in 10-100 years' time.

Bitcoin really can survive after 100 year, I think. But me opinion is that BTC is going to be something like antiques in this time.
Because the technologies will make a big leap forward. There are more advanced coins already. What is going to happen in 100 years, just imagine!

For me my answer is we dont know because bitcoins rate is depending on people who invest or trades it so if the people extinct then no one use bitvoin any more because no people alive thats hy we cant predict the future no onw knows what happen in bitcoin after that 100 years lets just wait until that year comes and the bitcoin is keep increasig and increasing the day by day because of the consumers of the bitcoin i wish next year it would be the great time to invest the bitcoin because i thibk it will reach it in 20000$ so be ready if that happens in next year

we will never know what will happen in the future, but look at recent developments where the use of paper money increasingly replaced with digital money. this is not impossible bitcoin or other digital currency will replace the role of paper money and will continue to survive until 100 years to come

I don't particularly see the point of this question as more than likely everyone on this forum will be in the ground by then. But for entertainment purposes, I'm going to say no, just because I believe there will be some type of new advancement that will render bitcoin obsolete. What it is, no one knows, just like no one would expect the relationship of virtual currency to physical currency
