Probably a hundred years later, there will appear something even more powerful, liquid, valuable, unimaginable, which will make you earn money. But bitcoin will not disappear anywhere, but it will become ubiquitous.

in my opinion bitcoin will survive even 100 years, or maybe there is another crypto that will replace bitcoin. because the development of the internet every day continues to grow. so it is possible to replace the bitcoin dominance.

I really do not think that bitcoin can stay alive after 100 years, because digital technology is constantly progressing and I do not think the great advances that are to come can forgive any of the current technologies that humans have developed until now. It is sufficient to see how far we have progressed in comparison with the previous hundred years, in order to make an approximate projection of the world so different that it is to come, and if perhaps bitcoin survived, it would only be like a rustic antiquity treasured by some collectors.
You are wrong. Bitcoin will be here in 100 years, because it is on the blockchain, which will continue evolving, but Bitcoin will always be there (it does not simply disappear). With that said, the real question here is will we use Bitcoin in 100 years? (not us obviously, but our descendants) My opinion is that at least some will. Crypto is evolving very rapidly and there may be a coin that has far superior technology in the future and overtakes Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is father of all coins as every new coin follows it's path. I cant see any good alternative for bitcoin in near future.Maybe some projects will offer to transfer, encyrpt your personal data or promise a less volatility coin like minexcoin that can be used easily for payment systems..But this not good reason to use that coins instead of btc.

Who know ? Bitcoin might not be around something better took its place and everybody sent their bitcoin to get this new method of payment working. Though everyone reading this will be dead by then unless we find a way to live longer.

although no one know about the future, it will be so early to predict about anything 100 years before, but as we can see that still bitcoin is in use of only 2 % and stil 98% people have to know about bitcoin and will using it, therefore i think we can expect that bitcoin will even survive after 100 years, and will become more and more popular at that time. as the users of bitcoin will be more at that time, and hope that bitcoin will be a common currency and people will be using it for everything.

I think it may still be around. I agree with some other posters that it has just started, and has no real way of disappearing, because we all know you cant make the internet disappear, and this is the Internets money.

As long as there is internet then bitcoin will not die or gone because internet will stay for lifetime because this is one of the greatest invention and because of the internet we can make things better and because of the internet, the life of bitcoin will stay like what is the life of the internet. Bitcoin will survive for 100 years and more century because bitcoin is unstoppable.

Bitcoin will survive provided that the demand and supply in the market will have a sustainability we all know bitcoin is unpredictable and if the value sudden increase but the supply cannot accommodate the growing demand bitcoin will surely die. Also those bitcoin owner especially who has the big amount in their wallet must continue to support bitcoin because if they will stop the bitcoin they earned will be idle and useless

Bitcoin is built to last. It will just keep on improving years by years. Aside from that, bitcoin needs internet and if there’s still internet then there is no reason why it should die.

If your speculation 100 years from now is base on a sci-fi high tech movie like iron man, matrix, elysium etc. i think if that will happen maybe bitcoin or other crypto currency are already implemented to use worldwide that time and the physical currency or money are no longer exist.. so the bitcoin will survive not for a hundred but maybe a couple of hundred years or more..

It's not seems to me a valid question because we will not survive here after 100 years & you can ask the prediction for 5-10 year range. Like 100 year prediction can not be done now. We all know bitcoin has huge potential to rise but we can not predict about future technology. But I believe it will survive for sure for coming ages as well & we should focus on 5-10 year planning to reap the good profit because nobody knows what will happen tomorrow.

Bitcoin could last for decades but imo meaningless to talk about a period like 100 years. Who knows what will happen by then?
I think so, It will still be around for more years even 100 years but it doesnt it will stay a bitcoin itself like today for that long, I mean possibly it may undergo from different processes that may turn bitcoin into a progressive and innovative system which may be a big different from now since 100 yeqrs a long way run , it will stay but never be the same as this.

I have no doubt that bitcoin is going to last longer than 100 years, but would it be relevant in the years to come? Another split is expected to happen in November which could result in the birth of another bitcoin. If things like these continue to happen, that might dilute the value of bitcoin in the short term. I am saying short term because bitcoin cash or other split coins might have value for now but will it be sustainable or just another money making agenda.

Definitely! BItcoin will survive even many centuries will past with the technology that we have but what I think of is bitcoin will be managed by government in the future- well we will never know what will happen 100years from now. Bitcoin is the name of game as of the moment since there's a lot of opportunities that you can get to earn money.
I agree that bitcoin will survive, because now more and more people are using bitcoin. There also more people investing in bitcoin so it will not so easily fall to zero dollar. I think also that the government will try to control bitcoin, because many people aren't paying any taxes. I am also agree that bitcoin will survive after 100 years because the new era is the era of technology and everyone in future will prefer bitcoin payment instead of fiat currency. I think people are fed up of governments conditions/restrictions and taxes. Bitcoin is a free zone tax currency and in future it would be very popular and preferable for modern generation.

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential
I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well
But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
I think that bitcoin is going to last longer even more than 100 years. As of now, people are loving bitcoin because of some benefits. Merely a split was expected to happen in the coming November which could result in the birth of another bitcoin or digital currency. If things like this will continue to happen, that might dilute the value of bitcoin in just a short term. But still, I hope that bitcoin will really survive in the near future.
