Definitely will remain supporters of Bitcoin
But soon something new will appear that will change the world.
I agree on the point that there will always be a change on the thing that lays on earth so we definitely need to wait or to adjust on the terms it my give us. But actually bitcoin is a part of future. Becasue for me bitcoin could be the future money that could support all types of transaction , to develop and to upgrade the system of transaction for us to have a better form and system in transactions.

Bitcoin is not bitcoin, the blockchain technology will never die. Thus, bitcoin will survive after 100 years. The way it existed is extremely smart so that it will survive under the hardest conditions in the world.

I totally agree! Bitcoin was the first step that showed the world the blockchain technology. He will remain in people's memory for centuries.

Will bitcoin survive next 100 years??
Obviously yes it will survive.  as modernisation is starting off every where people are opting for more conventional methods.  And bitcoin being one.. gradually bitcoin may take over money and secure a more stable hold in the global market.

For the present bitcoin is facing a great confrontations and trials due to many issues like China restriction on ICOs and the likewise the korean government same circumstance for bitcoin. Yet bitcoin is steady and a solid cryptocurrency in the cryptoworld, I believe bitcoin will beyond  100 yeras and without a doubt bitcoin will gain more popularity.

If still doubt the Bitcoin as a coin that is not successful it seems you are wrong because you can see the price is drastically high for now. hopefully you will be granted with Bitcoin's imagination for 100 years. Wink

bitcoin will survive
fiat money will survive
economical system will survive
in the future there'll be more option to buy and sell, bitcoin is only a variation of the transformation that economy is experiencing.
Some years ago didn't exist crowfunding, today is one of the best ways to obtain money for a project.
Bitcoin will survive and many more future currencies will came in 100 years...

Well we are all still clueless on what may happen with bitcoin in the future but as we take a look on what's happening with bitcoin right now, we will be able to say that it will last up until after 100 years. The credibility and invulnerability of bitcoin makes it more likely to survive the future obstacles that it may meet on the way so we should just had faith with bitcoin. Everything will surely be settled properly with bitcoin in the future.

If to be honest I don't really think so. I think that there will be something absolutely new in 100 years, something very different to Bitcoin. It will probably survive as a currency, but not as a tool for long-term investment.

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?

Its either, stay or replaced by a new cryptocurrency that is not volatile if bitcoin becomes the standard coin in the future then it is hard to manage if the value changes from time to time. Bitcoin if not replaced will going to be redesigned to become more stabilized standard currency in the future.
There are also the possibilities that bitcoin might be gone.

Tell me how long we are using Paper Money? About 400+ years, right? Don't worry about Bitcoin, the king will rule forever, as long we use technology.

I think we humans will adapt cryptocurrency and bitcoin itself as the main form of currency that will be used. After 100 years, I believe there would be futuristic cities and advance technologies that matches the world demand. Cryptocurrency will play a critical role in this society and changing the economy for the better I hope.

No government can control Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies and the number of people using the cryptocurrency has increased. I think so it's coming a big war political about bitcoin because i read that China has ordered the closing of platforms where virtual currency exchange.
But i'm sure that it will survive more than 100 years.  Tongue

Well 100 years is a very long period, we will not be here to see if Bitcoin will survive after this period or not. We can only predict and that's still not sure. In my opinion, if everything is ok in the world for the next coming 100 years, most likely Bitcoin and the crypto currencies will survive. But if something happened forcing connection to cut for example it would be impossible for Bitcoin to survive as it is dependant to Internet.

of course I'm sure like you. with this highly effective technology and system, and at a price that is currently very high, increasing public confidence in bitcoin. so bitcoin will continue to survive and become a very effective alternative payment in the future.

It could still be profitable to miners. Some of the things I have read state that there will be so many people using and transacting with it that the fees will be really really low, but will make up for it.

It is also possible that if miners drop out or cannot profit the difficulty could go down.

100 years from now though I would Imagine BTC has Hardforked multiple more times and people are using different versions. I think they would just use the BC altcoins and use a service like shapeshift to conver if they need to buy someting from somewhere that doesn't take that BTC altcoin.

the interesting thing is that HF may be useful in decreasing network hashrate. If more and more hashrate goes into other BTC altcoin clones/Hardforks it would be interesting to see how that plays out.

I had a similar discussion with someone just the other day. He said that bitcoin will not be around in 5-10 years (not even talking about 100). I, of course, do not agree, and believe in the long term options of it, but it's really about emotions here, there's no way to prove it either way, just wait and see...

So true, sometimes it looks like that all hype is based on emotions and media that either threatens or promotes the crypto ideas. However I do believe that cryptocurrency will take over fiat. Nobody likes changes but reality is different and we should both be smart and educate ourselves.
