Well thank you for your patience. I notice in your response a couple places where I may have miscommunicated. Perhaps we should leave it there.
Thank you as well. I have a lot of respect for you. Debates like this tend to get far more out of hand than this one did, and I appreciate the level of maturity you bring to the table.

I only saw this thread now. Sorry if I jump into the conversation a bit late, and sorry if this was mentioned before. I scanned 6 of the 17 pages and it got a bit much. Please bear in mind that the bible talks about a central world currency, and people having the "mark of the beast". People would not be able to transact or do business without having that mark of the beast (which lots of people say are RFID chips implanted in our hands). That's how "the devil" will control everyone. BUT! Bitcoin is the exact opposite of that - No centralized authority can tell you how or when you spend your bitcoins
- You'll never need to carry any mark to transact.
So OP, please tell your friend that bitcoin is far less evil than what he thinks!

... My argument is against an externalized god. Satanism is a better argument against theism than atheism is...
Just a tiny technical detail: Satanism is not an argument against theism, it *is* theism. What's cuter still is the common variants are little more than Christian striation cults. From simplistic inversions of Christian teachings and symbols (Good->Evil, Cross->Upside-down Cross) to sublime interpretations of Sufis*, who worship Satan as the greatest lover of God -- like Christ, receiving the ultimate punishment for embodying the ultimate truth**. *Islam, at least for the nonbelievers: Judaism +1 prophet = Christianity, +another prophet = Islam. **The punishment, of course, is not defeat, but being cast away from the one he adored (God). As he fell to the depths of hell, a feather parted from his wing. As it fell to earth, it became Satan's first gift to man: Freedom.

Believe what you want.

*Islam, at least for the nonbelievers: Judaism +1 prophet = Christianity, +another prophet = Islam.
Just in case one thinks all religions are the same... Let it be known that Islam is more like Judaism + 1 prophet + another prophet (who didn't prophesy) – every prophet and passage that contradicts the later revelations of said prophet + a few essential conspiracy theories to glue it together. I have heard it from their mouths, in person. Even a widely regarded cleric said: "If not for the punishment of apostasy, Islam would have ended with Mohammed"

Personally, I do think that God or more precisely, the Holy Spirit (or our "conscience" as some people call Him) does speak to us and tell us what "right and wrong" is. Where does our sense of compassion come from? Most would say from parents or society or it has "evolved" but I believe God puts that in our hearts and speaks to us.
Hah! I have said "Fuck you, holy spirit! I renounce you completely!" many times, which according to the bible is the worst sin of all, resulting in god and holy spirit forsaking you completely, yet I still have morals and compassions, am nice to animals, and have a conscience that tells me what to do. Checkmate Christians!

Not exactly. It's more like this: You can have love without walking with God, but if you do not have love, you do not walk with God. Just like one can believe in Christ, but not obey him. We see a lot of that. To paraphrase: "Even Satan and his demons believe, and they tremble." edit: John 14:19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them."
22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?"
23 Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
25 "All this I have spoken while still with you.
26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. All to say, that if you don't love Christ, blaspheming the spirit is a very real but secondary problem for you.

If we don't have control over what we think, & therefore your actions, how is it I can be punished for being a product of my environment? DONT WHATEVER YOU DO, THINK ABOUT A PINK BANANA. ITS A DEADLY SIN IF YOU DO. Opps, sorry folks, did you think about that pink banana? Off to hell with you.

I am deciding what to listen to and what influences my mind. I have found I need to have a filter on at all times.
Sounds to me like you are describing that blindfold you mentioned earlier, and that you are the one trying to get others to put on the blindfold as opposed to "seeing." It's as if your frustration is that you are wearing a blindfold and asking others to put it on, but others are too interested in knowing everything in the world to listen to you. How is selectively picking what you allow yourself to see and read supposed to be "opening your eyes and seeing?"

If you don't believe a thing in the book, of course you're going to think the derived ideas are terrible. I just happen to have more to go on now than the book itself.
Where did you get the other things if not from the book?
