Would be nice to see an input control feature in future client update.

The Coin Control is already there. Wallet->Options->Display

PoW is also only for rich people who invest in mining machines with 12 gpus or more.
People who invest get more. But also lose more if it goes the other way

I had 12 GPU's working for the first 4-5 days.  I have 10,000 coins to show for it and at today's last sale price, it is worth about 38 bucks.

Yep, that 4 grand in GPU's has just made me filthy rich on this.

But, one never knows.  The story has it that someone spend 10,000 BTC on two Papa John's pizzas in 2010...  so, maybe at 38.00 I am doing OK.

I can tell you this.  Without an exchange, that 38.00 is likely to just sublimate into the air.

The coin have what ? Ten days ?

Mining about 1500/day since day about 2.  These are my staking numbers.

9/7 - 300 coins
9/8 - 200
9/9 - 300
9/10 - 600
9/11 - 300
9/12 - 100
9/13 - none

I figured the POS difficulty would kick in strong when the auctioned coins matured.  Looks to be the case.

You wil not receive anything as far as many millions of coins were divided amoung auction participants and now they all POS. So our thousands of coins have no chance agains millions as far as "weight" growth is limited by 16days. So POS is not for us.

I don't like this kind of POS, is only for rich people.

They have advantages but with the growing weight, you will get POS result in time.
-TC
No it is not. POS weight is limited by Total coins * 16days.
So If you have 1000 coins you will have 16000 weight maximum.
Another guy with 1Ml coins have 1000 times more chances to get POS block. Even on his first day of staking your maximum chance against him is 1.6%.
But don't forget that there are 80 those guys. So divide it by 80 Grin

Mmm I must be doing something wrong with the staking...

It says "staking enabled for 5 inputs weighing (sic) 16 coins days". However, the 5 matured inputs are well over 100 coins! so it should be at least 100 coins days...My config is as following:

irc=1
dns=1
qtstyle=2
daemon=1
server=1
stakegen=1
logtimestamps=1
minersleep=2000
stakemindepth=1000
stakemintime=24
stakecombine=40
stakesplit=80
port=17298
rpcport=17299
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

Just noticed it raised to 17 coins days, but it doesn't add up...

Weight is calculated as coins in input * coinage. Coinage starts after 24h when they start staking. So after 24h it's still 0, after another half day it's 0.5 so an input of100 has 50weight after 1 1/2 days after transfer.
But as the one before me said, those 100 coins can get max weight of 1500, in comparison to other that's low and chances for a pos block are pretty minor.

That makes sense and explains the numbers.

As I understand, there is no real cost in leaving the wallet open and staking, aside from leaving the PC on, which I'm doing anyway. May as well do it, if only because it would be hillarious to actually find a block.

Yeah you don't need a high performance mashine for that. I got my wallet running on my media server, pulling about 20w.
So better for me as gpu mining is too costly here.

is your wallet unlocked for staking?
do you have the golden triangle in the lower left
if you mouse over it do you see something that says:
Staking enabled for #imputs weighing ### coin days inputs: ## min. age, # avg.age # max.age

if so staking is working you just have to wait

Then you are staking, worst case just leave you wallet running for extra 100 coins now and then...

I see plenty of people lamenting about high staking difficulty and that they don't make any coins now when coins from auction started staking.
I was going to ignore those comments but afterwards i decided to take this opportunity to educate some where the real problem is.

This coin have brilliant POW+POS mix and staking is extremely cheap.
68M coins was sold for total of 25btc.
Mere investment of 2BTC secured over 5M coins (this is what i did and i observe stakes every hour, sometimes multiple stake in hour)

So the real problem is something different.
It is that those people are basically broke and have almost no money to invest.
There are two paths that they can chose now:

1st, difficult
admit that you are worthless loser and do something about it, change your future, transform yourself into something else

2nd, easy
criticize the POS system
or Conqueror
or rich people
or Trezarcoin
etc.

I picked the first option few years ago, i accepted that i was broke loser. And evolved from that state step by step.
Was it easy? No.
Am I bitching about high staking difficulty now? No.

ok, I am ready
Go ahead and choose No. 2

And all these "deep" thoughts are about what?
It is a lesson of
1) "How to make blindfolded investments and loose 2BTC"?
2) "How to persuade yourself that 5ml of TZC has some value"  Grin
3) "I had 2BTC and you loosers haven't"  Grin

All 3 options are correct to some extend.

You will do very well on path no.2
congrats
