Hi all,

I'm attempting to register workers via cgminer (and attempted CPU miner to test as well). From the /accountworkers page:
Quote
Adding worker from bfgminer, cgminer, random stratum miner : Just use Username.whateveryouwant as username and anything you want as password

Trying
Code:
./minerd -o stratum+tcp://stratum.ftc.theblocksfactory.com:3333 -u TheAntz.laptoptest -p x
gets the error:
Code:
[2015-11-02 12:17:14] Starting Stratum on stratum+tcp://stratum.ftc.theblocksfactory.com:3333
[2015-11-02 12:17:14] 2 miner threads started, using 'neoscrypt' algorithm.
[2015-11-02 12:17:14] Binding thread 1 to cpu 1
[2015-11-02 12:17:14] Binding thread 0 to cpu 0
[2015-11-02 12:17:15] Stratum authentication failed
[2015-11-02 12:17:15] ...retry after 30 seconds

Using username/password that has been created via the pool web interface connects fine, but dynamic worker creation fails.
Any assistance or indication of anything I've overlooked would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

I have tried sending a PM but did not get a reply.  I rented 850 Mh Quibit and pointed it at your pool.  In 8-10 hours of mining my hash rate showed up as 2 Mh and I got 500 Dgb.  In addition I found 29 blocks.  There is something wrong and I am wondering what the problem is.  I would think I should have made 10's of thousands of Dgb.
Thanks

I answered by PM.

There is a specificity in qubit.

I think the problem comes from the diff-multiplier needed in Qubit, this parameter need to be configured according to the pool. (gettingstarted page)

If you set it to high, your miner will work to much because the share produced will be considered x time lower than needed.

Thanks for the reply but I still think there is a problem.  At 2 Mh the odds of me finding 29 blocks in 8 hours would be impossible.  The pool hash rate was 1.2 Gh and if I had a hash rate of 800+ Mh it seems I would have found about 40% of the blocks, which is exactly what happened. At 2 Mh I would have had about 0.17% of the hash rate yet would have found 40% of the blocks.  Possible but not probable

hi, there is something wrong with worker diff settings on the PXC pool. I used to use _diff8 parameter with my worker name but it is doing at 16 and 8. I tried _diff4 but it is still doing at 8 or 16 or 32 and does not mind what diff I set with my worker name. What is wrong? Is this function still working or there is a min. diff for worker?

I tried with "TheMiner.1_diff9" and the diff is fixed at 9.

What is displayed in the worker page ?

when I set _diff4 pxc tbf pool is doing without taking this settings into account - it is doing in vardiff mode (changing diff 8 to 64 during hashing)

when I set higher diff 128 it is doing with 128, is there a minimum worker diff higher than 4? There is an information that min worker diff is 1 on the worker page in my account so I do not understand why tbf is not accepting my diff settings under 8. It was working well with any diff settings I have set for my CPU miners before, but I do not know why it is not working now.

It's an estimation based on the average difficulty of the last 24h, if the difficulty moves alot the estimation is not precise

Edit : by the way, DGB has been very unstable lately,so the value are realy not good

So something very curious going on with the PXC pool at TheBlocksFactory. Cannot find support anywhere on the website so ill ask here.

http://i63.tinypic.com/122izvb.png

TBF is my favorite pool by a long shot, but I am very curious how this is possible at all without it showing up on the net hash rate as it would be beyond a 51% attack it would be around 60-70% of the hash all by one person. But yet again it does not show up on block chain for PXC or Coinwarz.

My apologies is this is a stupid question as I am well aware that this type of hash rate is entirely possible. Thanks in advance.

The pool and CoinWarz display hash rate reported by the PXC daemon which is a rolling average of the last 30 blocks by default. A 51% attack is nearly impossible on PXC even if they put in the combined hash rate of all NeoScrypt powered coins. Not a single successful attack for 2.5 years up to date, said enough.
