Can maths help you win in gambling ?

There is no mathematical formula to figure out how to win at any gambling game.
If there was then we would of been using it and already millionaires from the casinos being bankrupt by now.

Only thing which I can related to maths with gambling is that stringer your maths the calculation in some of the games require would be on your fingertips quickly and thus may have an some sort of edge overs others. Rest it would not matter much as rightly said that by now all the casinos would have to shut down as they would be bankrupt.

For me it is a yes. Knowledge in math and skills and experience in gambling are the three factors that will really help you in winning in gambling. And sometime luck is included. Because some expert are solving the winning chance through math, and by that they are having baseline befire making a bet. They already computed the chance of winning. That why math is really a factor.

Math can help you have a better play but not to win always. There are lots of math-based and logic-based strategy you can find anywhere which seems to work in first few minutes of the game but if luck is not on your side no matter how good your calculation is the house still win at the end.

Math can help you have a better play but not to win always. There are lots of math-based and logic-based strategy you can find anywhere which seems to work in first few minutes of the game but if luck is not on your side no matter how good your calculation is the house still win at the end.

Nice insight, yes you are right about getting some good understanding and calculations using logic based games but we should remember that it's also math that the house owners uses to take their advantage, so even we analyze and calculate well we also needed to make sure that we do have good self control and better judgement when to stop either we already in green or still in red to avoid being completely busted.

well what youre saying is a skill,perfect estimation of finger tips to edge over others,this is used most of the time in actual card games,but if your playing online this has no effect since only mind and eyes has a connection and our finger is only for final blow.

True, but there are actually a lot of other creative ways to get an advantage over the casinos. Sometimes, it is based on miscalculations of their game mathematics.

Yes. I think so. If its a card game like poker it can improve your chances since you are calling the shots.You will know the odds if you are good in Math. Whenever I'm on the poker table, the hardest player to go up against is the Math wizard. Its hard to determine if its a bluff because you know that he has something.  For roulette, I don't think Math applies on that game. It all depends on luck in my opinion.

I disagree because i have a friend of mine who uses mathematics analysis for the games that have numbers. He explore every digits or numbers that he saw and can be solve for and the answer will properly near to the result of the dice or roulette. Gambling is something needs a smart mind to figure out the things and make a move that can confuse the programmed computer.

I mean, I get that if you are some sort of brainiac you can get an edge over certain games (blackjack etc), but you saying that your friend can beat a dice or roulette computer.. That has to be bullshit? 

I can't remember the last time I heard of someone beating a roulette computer.. There are these machines that certain individuals are selling that they claim can beat the machines but they seem extremely risky not to mention they cost tens of thousands of $..

There was a Bollywood movie based on this called Teen Patti which is an awesome movie. It changed my way of thinking related to gambling. There is no doubt that if you are good at some sections of mathematics like probability, you have more chances of winning certain games. It requires a lot of real life practice though.

although maths can help us to win in gambling, I think it will take a time to calculate everything and we need to prepare the number and besides that, we need to learn about that method. personally, I don't use math for playing gambling, I only click, click and click what I need and let the games decide for me.

I definitely agree with you my friend I this regard that math can never ever help a gambler to win the game and it is really a truth that math can never help the gamblers. It would be a big blunder from ones side to say that math is something helpful in gambling because people who are good in math also lose games in gambling whenever they come to casinos to play, maybe in bigger ratio than other people who have little knowledge of math because gambling is depending upon luck all the time.

Yes it can be helpful but in few gambling games like sports betting or in some other gambling game but not in dice, cards and slots game, or in lottery gambling, where we purely depend on our luck. If you have a good luck then you can make money from such gambling games but still we have accept the reality that no one can become lucky for every time. Therefore more chances are that one will lose money in gambling.
