Ysell - Thank you. The wallet (portable) seems to be syncing. Hopefully I will get my coins after the wallet syncs. I will let you know.

Ysell - Have you been invested in anoncoin for a long time and do you think it will survive? I have been with anoncoin from the early days and still believe in the coin but the support at the moment is weak.

There's so many if's and but's to this question. I have been interested in the coin since Zerocoin 2013ish. The tech is awsome. They've delivered on the i2p integration, now it's just a wait till the zerocoin integration; then, if this happens there will be no other coin that even comes close. Monero and zcash, all have inferior tech (especially zcash dodgy multi party trusted coin - Not even the inventors would trust zcash - on Youtube saying this), but if Zcoin is never implemented, it's just a fantastic theory. I believe it will be implemented. The main developers have other projects, such as Meeh being the main developer for i2p. The critical aspect of this, is; will the main developers continue to work on ANC? The problem is without development, or at least a visible presence on Twitter, Forum's etc, people think it's dead, yet there is development, although sporadic. The developers are so hot on working within the confines of a private internet i2p that they fail to realise that public insecure communication is the best way to garner new interest, new developers etc. It seems these guys are happy with an exclusive privacy network without communicating with others outside of it. it's a very interesting coin with awsome potential and a whisper of development. The development whisper does not fill me with optimism for it's future, yet I have a geeky enthusiasm for it's potential. In the not so distant future, governments will try and prevent cryptocurrencies, thus there will inevitably be the need for a privacy based cryptocurrency. I see Anoncoin tech as being a safety net incase the worst does happen. This will see the rise of Anoncoin surpassing Bitcoin valuations, as people are criminalized for using Bitcoin. I'm personally a little unnerved about cryptocurrency, alot like how I was concerned that MP3 digital was surpassing CD's. At the same time I see Anoncoin or equivalent as being an inevitable highly used currency.

Ysell - I agree with you and that is why I mined Anoncoin early. I lost most of my coins when Cryptsy went bust and what I have left was valued at around 50 litecoins at one point before it lost most of its value. Not a lot compared to other holders, but it is/was a coin I believe/d could become the main currency in the darknet.
When you say that you are waiting for zerocoin, what do you mean? Wasn't the zerocoin project killed off? If zerocoin comes live, how can it be merged with anoncoin and what will happen to anoncoins people hold? PS: Just to let you know my wallet has synced but the transfer from Cryptopia more than 6 months ago with my coins never materialised. It problably means that I have lost them. I have raised a ticket with Cryptopia and I am now waiting for their response.

I just received an email from Cryptopia saying that they have sent the coins and that the transaction had all the confirmations. Maybe the reason is because I have synced the portable wallet and not the anoncoin-qtc wallet. The wallet bat file is maybe for the anoncoin-qtc? Anyway, I did everything suggested to open the anoncoin-qtc wallet and it says that I am running on clearnet but not the portable version.

The portable one would be a brand new wallet seperate from your previous version. You will need to restore your old wallet and send the balance over to your portable wallet if that's what you want to do. There are support pages on restoring an old wallet from bat. Re: Zerocoin. Check out the development log. It's not kept uptodate, but it's at least a map on what deliverables are intended for further releases. Release C is the one you need to look at: https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Development_schedule . The MIT Zerocoin project was intended as a seperate coin to anonymise Bitcoin transactions. Anoncoin intend on making Zerocoin part of the currency rather than just as anonymising tool. So when it has been implemented into the coin, a hardfork will happen, update your portable version to tge latest release and voila, you have a Zerocoin version of Anoncoin. Been a few years since I read the detail, but mathematicians have not found a better alternative. Eli Ben Sasson, the main brain behind zero knowledge proofs said that there are many better theoretical zero knowledge proofs, but none that have been solved yet, or any time soon by mathematicians. He was the professor behind the zcash white paper, but he said he personally would not use Zcash as you can't 100% trust the trusted third parties' stage. You can trust the RSO ZKP that Zerocoin use.

Ysell & X68N
Thank you for your help. I started the 'StartANCI2PdPortable' exe file and the i2p exe also started at the same time. After couple of minutes, the 'DYN i2p' activated and I have 6 people connected. I also put the wallet file in the anonocoin wallet folder. I could not find the Roaming folder for some reason. I searched the c drive/users etc, but nothing. However, no syncing is happening as per this post for some reason. I am not sure why?
on which OS do you work? if Windows7 or higher , you need go to the menu of the windows explorer (first rightclick to show the menu xD) -> then to extras and Folder options -> Tab View (the 2nd of the 3 tabs) -> read all the stuff to find "hideprotected system files" and uncheck it so they become visible. and click the button "for all folders" -> Now go to the useres folders i wrote about earlier it should be visible now

X68N - Thank you for your reply. I think my mistake was not having deleted all in the AppData Anoncoin folder with the exception of the wallet.bat file before installing the master Anoncoin wallet.
I have been able to activate the wallet that says i2p only. Cryptoslave sent me a message yesterday giving me the instructions of how to rescan the wallet which I have done and the address Cryptopia sent the coins to now shows up in the wallet. The wallet now has 8 active connections and it is syncing as I write this post. Hopefully, my coins will show up when the wallet syncs.

Ysell - I will read the Zerocoin info you suggested. If I get my coins back, I have no intention of selling them. I think we (as a community) can still get this project on the road. I was wondering if we should all contact Cryptoslave and offer our help and individual skills to save the project. I understand that the main skills they need at the moment are people that can code? Unfortunately, that is a skills I don't have. However, I can offer other skills like maintaining the twitter/facebook account, research, writing articles, etc.

I think at this early stage anything anyone can do will help. I, like many others on here will offer support if I can. I can juggle the forum when I'm out and about working. I can't login via i2p when I'm out and update the community on latest development chats . I think being able to update the community outside of i2p would be great. It would be incredible if Anoncoin community were to vote on certain jobs, paying with Anoncoin for completion, for example "Zerocoin implementation".

(i had to try to contact the support i have an open ticket on BTC38 where i asked when ANC will be open for Deposits again, (i needed 6 days to get this info because their first answer was just smalltalk!) their answer: "service staff 可儿: Sorry, we are also very anxious, wallet BUG problem needs to be resolved after the official team to open" (remeber we cant use complicated english text otherwise the answer will be smalltalk) so what is the best answer to this? any ideas to give them the developer email/website github link ? ask where the official team needs to "open" ?

I'm using the nodes off of https://novaexchange.com/addnodes/ANC/ and have 4 active connections (clearnet) however my blockchain is not catching up. This is on a fresh install. I hear I2P seems to be working better and maybe this is what I need to do to get it to work but is there any reason why clearnet shouldn't be downloading the blockchain even with 4 peers?

Ysell - I agree with you in relation to the community sharing some of the jobs to publicise Anoncoin. I wouldn't mind helping you with forums, twitter, facebook, etc.
X68N - I sent the coins I bought today to my wallet. I only trade other coins and mine Zcash and ETC. Anoncoin for me is hopefully a long-term bet that will pay off. It has all the attributes to succeed. It just needs more developers 100% committed to help Cryptoslave.
Cryptoslave - Do you think crowd-funding could be the solution to get the resources you need to keep this project going?
