Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Wallet -      This is a pre-release test build - use at your own risk - do not use for mining or merchant applications

what does this mean? I thought the official bitcoin gold client was all we needed?

I tried checking out version 0.15 instead of master from the github source, and that took the pre-relase message away.  However I'm still not syncing any blocks (ubuntu 14.04)

The last release of the branch 'master' seems to be the good one.

If you have trouble getting peers; opening the port: 8338 is helpful.

What a funny premine, there are too much block in premine... Dev can actually make premine in one block only... Is it any lucky number of 8000?

Yeah I would not call it decentralized with that much premine.

I'll estimate that difficulty will be crazy high when it first hits as everyone jumps on, then the novelty will fall off and it will settle down, slotting somewhere in the top five on whattomine.

However, I have heard of others saying that the first few public blocks might be a bit easier as people have trouble syncing up and getting it all up and running. Won't have to wait long to find out!

I did go to http://btcgpu.com/ then I saw the form with input BTC address.
There was been an link on the site https://MYBTGWALLET.COM
I remember MyEtherWallet so i go there and see web-wallet.
Addresses is beginning from G and A symbol. Compressed and uncompressed.
I did download zip and see public key version bytes 0x27 (G) and 0x17 (A) for new SegWit addresses.
So I did add this both to previous modified brainwallet (see my previous posts).
Compressed and uncompressed keys and addresses is available there.
Also I did add supporting for Segwit addresses and simply JS file encryptor in browser.
You all can download it and test here: http://rgho.st/7vlks4Rgh
Just press button "Cкaчaть" to get zip,
unzip it
and open index.html in the tab of your browser.

Now BTG you can select there and generate addresses for mining. Open source.
