"Hacking and scams remain the top risk for Bitcoin holders. Exchanges that shut down or passwords stolen from devices can easily wipe out a person’s bitcoins. Moreover, governments and central banks from various countries are starting to impose limitations on the use of cryptocurrencies.

Digital coins clearly threaten the political and economic establishment, and the regulatory environment can quickly change with the stroke of a legislative pen. Banks and governments typically use familiar language in the media, such as the need to protect consumers from new risks.

We are hearing familiar talking points from politicians who are getting pressured from the banking lobby. It seems that the root cause of the status quo’s actions in 2017 is to protect fiat currencies and traditional financial interests. Competing digital coins represent a potential end to the government’s monopoly of the monetary system." - Bitcoin.com

Well as a bitcoin holder my greatest fear upon it are:
first, hack or to be scam by other crypto people I am afraid to be stole my earning because it is for my future.
Next, is that when I saw the bitcoin fall and never come back.
Last, is to be control by government because if it is being corrupt by government then there will be a tax for us to pay or worst if they ban it.
As of now these are th things I am afraid of.

As a coin holder these maybe are my greatest fears:

1. Government overtaking and imposing regulations and completely banning the cryptocurrency.
2. Those whales who are controlling well enough to extremely bring a coin at its highest to its deepest position.
3. Hackers and Scammers are the nightmare of all coin believers.Too sad its their way of filling their bags up.

Well, we all know this is risky and we all decided to take it. So, brace yourself and let us see how far this may take us.
I fully agree with the answer and I would like to add that fears like those of the bitcoin owner are much more than written here

Yes, I agree. Once the coins are owned by the corporations and the governments, the coins will seize to be what they were supposed to be: an unregulated currency. Its the idea behind bitcoin that makes it what it is. It is not utility, fashion nor a measure of wealth. You can't show off your bitcoins...yet but I'm sure they will think of something that will announce to the world how much bitcoin one has. The centralization and the regulation of bitcoin will make them tulips for the price will go too high to be of use. Everyone is fighting right now to make the price higher and higher, but what is the point? Will the beliefs of the creator carry on to all those that trade and hodl the coin? I think not.

I fear the coins are becoming centralized and they will be regulated. I fear they will represent all that they were supposed to oppose.

After the Cryptopocalyse, we'll see who the true believers are.

The main fear is that they will break the exchange and steal or freeze money! Therefore, the bit holder must take care that their bitcoins lie in a safe place!))

I don't fear in hackers and scammers because they can't hack your coins if you put it in hardware wallet or if you don't go into phishing sites. Maybe my greatest fear is the volatility of bitcoin that can affect the price of it. I'm afraid that one time when I wake up the price of bitcoin decreased by almost 3k or below (hope it will not happen). Cheesy

Scammers that can cause crashes, that's why I don't hold too much, I mean when the price rise I make it to a point to sell some or to convert it , there's no need to hord too much sometimes its enough that we already earn more, it can cause us being too greedy when we docus on making it more too much. Find sometime to enjoys it.

If bitcoin will decrease in $3,000 below, i guess it's a great a news from the buyers like me because that is the time to have a better profits to get, because i believe in bitcoin  whenever  how many times bitcoin price drops it will always rise and rise again because  that's  the characteristics  of bitcoin. All you have to do is wait for the timing, when that speculation to be happened again that bitcoin will fall back into $3,000 below.

My greatest fears as bitcoin holder is the possible hacking into my online wallet. I believe that if the hacker is clever and good in doing such evil activity ,he can able to steal any bitcoin online wallet. Thats is very discouraging if that happend.

My greatest fear is the instability in the price of Bitcoin. Since every investor aims at maximizing profits, the fluctuations in price of Bitcoin is a major concern. Who knows when the price would be so low that it will be worthless investing in Bitcoin

The only fear I have in bitcoin, is not to be scam or my key and password being stolen and my account getting hacked. If not I don't have any fear in bitcoin because the future of bitcoin is so promising and the market will sky rocket in 2018, and it will be very hard for any government to interfere in bitcoin because of bitcoin decentralized natour making it hard for any one to subject bitcoin under any authority or central bank law.

I think one of everyone's biggest fears is for bitcoin to turn out to be the worlds most elaborate scam. Personally for me it would be losing my keys or being hacked.

My greatest fear as a bitcoin holder is hacker. Many mails have been sent to my mail box from  scammer telling me that I have worn so-so amount of bitcoin. The statement further required me to download the info concerning the offer but I do not. Hacker is my greatest problem as a bitcoin holder.

With the high value of bitcoin, of course we as the owner of bitcoin have fear. The fear is the occurrence of a scam with bitcoin, wallet breaking, and the ban of bitcoin use by the government in my country

I have a lot of fears about bitcoins. I'm always worried about bitcoin course, because if at the right time I will not sell my bitcoins then exchanging course may fall and I will lose money. Also bitcoin legalization, many countries banned bitcoins that exacerbate bitcoin position in the world. Bitcoin protection also imperfect, any hacker with big experience can easy hacked our wallets.
