I suggest  you invest in Bitcoin get to know the tech behind it, and do as much research as you can on Ethereum. Then compare the two the pros and the cons. Then diversify you investment you should be able to kill two birds with one stone.

Both are very good to invest. Bitcoin and Ethereum are both the best cryptocurrencies but they are very different. Although Ethereum does have some nice features that give it more potential than its parent in some key factors. Ethereum often decreased dramatically compared to bitcoin. So having some Ether may not be the same as having a bit of bitcoin. But if viewed in theory bitcoin is the best crypto than Ethereum.

Yes, all coins in the market are all unpredictable so we can't really predict whose going to be profitable with regards in our investment but as for me I would rather choose bitcoin for my investment because in terms of value bitcoin is obviously have the highest value and any minor positive changes in the market will give profit for every investors and its popularity makes bitcoin very volatile.

However, keeping in mind that Bitcoin is far more expensive than Ethereum, many people would actually say that it's easier and more realistic to invest in Ethereum rather than Bitcoin. I agree, there are so many other coins that could give you good returns more than Bitcoin or Ethereum. However, since the premise of the question is the comparison of the two. I would side with Bitcoin because of the many characteristics going for it. It's value, popularity, marketability and usage rate are all reasons that makes it better as an investment compared to other coins. However, I am not discrediting Ethereum, for it also has it's perks going for it.
