I have a question topic here on Reddit re: PoG. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on PoG: https://www.reddit.com/r/BiblePay/comments/aobo7q/what_do_you_think_of_proof_of_giving_pog/?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

does PODCupdate prioritize to use younger coins to preserve the ones with more coin age?  That would be helpful for also doing POG.

If you create some bank notes with exec bankroll, we mark them for POG only.  Then PODC Updates wont choose them.

This pog stuff makes absolutely zero sense.  Furthermore this  "leaderboard" doesn't seem to list the people in any specific order

Do you have any specific questions? Or you're just ranting?

I've had an enhancement request to sort pogpool by block height. Would that make more sense to you?

enhancement: pogpool sort by block height

Hello again.

As I said before I have multiple PCs doing SOLO mining and PODC. Every PC has the same wallet copied.
I have 2 PCs (with the same wallet as the other Solo PCs) mining on pool.biblepay.org.

For POG, should I have all PCs in a pool or I can leave them solo?
Can I have the same nickname for all the PCs or every PC should have its own nickname?

dont forgot one think: pog is creating coins like bank of zimbabwe
do you need more coins? here you are...
with no effort, almost 0 costs of electricity, wallet could be running on few watts device
there will be more and more coins with no value, staking is no answer as it is one time thing, not repeating with new coins

why btc is still dumping? because there are lots of coins mined when value was less (e.g mined with costs ~1000/btc) so it is no problem for somebody to sell it now for 3400
same will be here if you allow low value coins (replace podc with pog)

for fun it is ok to have small pog like now and trying gamble there

It is the old discussion about PoW and PoS.

So doing PoW you are getting coins minted from nowhere in exchange of electricity/hardware that secures the chain, and with PoS you get the same minted coins from nowhere in exchange of old enough coins (staking).

PoG is a flavor of PoS with a in-build pool, but chain is still secured with PoBH.

About which system is better, everyone has an opinion more or less strong towards one or the other.

it works in ideal conditions
everybody wants more coins so they staking and staking, until... something happens
in pow you had some costs and will not be happy selling under these costs
in pos you have alsmost no costs, you can nocer stake cost by selling mined coins so then no worry about whats happens next, you will sell for ANY price with profit
thats my opinion

Agreed. PoW creates a cost base supporting market price. PoS may also do that, if the ROI is similar to USD interest rates (unfortunately many PoS coins promise crazy ROIs, which are not sustainable).

I checked out the PoG guide

I believe I need to set tithe=1 in the config file to activate PoG

Q: How do I set the tithe amount to the daily amount I wish to give?

TIA

The real price is in the trust of people and in the project itself. Project itself means his idea and work of people which are developing it. IF BBP project gets a bigger trust in community then your milliones of BBP could just disappear on Exchange during few minutes :-)

POG = Pure Gambling, that's mathematical certainty. RTP (return to player) = you can only guess Smiley
