Biblepay - v1.1.0.2 Mandatory Upgrade For entire network (Sanctuaries and Users)
- Enable Proof-of-Distributed Computing at block 33440
Sorry everyone, I posted the wrong cutover block for PODC. Its not as if 2,000 people are not looking for block 33400 right now. I corrected the original post, it should be 33440. Additionally, I see that one cosmetic feature we need included in the new version is not in the version: We are supposed to be able to type "showblock height" and see the actual CPID and CPID signature, and verify the block subsidy has gone down to 600 (from ~6000). Somehow this feature was not merged into prod. Its only cosmetic so it will not require a mandatory, but we do need the feature obviously so we can verify everything after block 33440 passes. I will push that feature out in the next hour.

Guys my hashrate fell like 80-90%. Is this supposed to happen? Am I gonna get that much less BBP's or is it gonna sort itself out somehow? After block 33400, with PODC it is better to just lower your hashrate and increase your Rosetta cancer intensity. But between now and 33400, you can go ahead and increase your genproclimit as high as you want - if you want to expend more for POW. The reason for the difference is we have a 250ms sleep in the new miner by default, its easier to just increase your genproclimit than to disable it. Or you can set the 'minersleep=0' parameter if you wish. How to set max CPU usage? Also can you define what PODC is and what minersleep=0 does? Thanks in advance The minersleep is there so that less cpu power is used. It means the wallet mines 250ms, then sleeps 250ms, then mines 250ms again, etc. This is to lessen heat mining impact, and also ensures that Boinc keeps on running on computers where both the wallet and Boinc are installed (Boinc halts computing when too many other processes use cpu-cycles). Setting minersleep=0 will turn off the sleep function and you can mine full power again. You can experiment with the max CPU usage by using the command 'setgenerate true NUMBER', in which NUMBER stands for the number of threads that you want to use (e.g. 'setgenerate true 8'). Thank you very much for the info. Do you earn any biblepay while using Boinc through the wallet? I just tried to connect my android phone to my pool account but I am getting this error. Any help? https://ibb.co/dp0SV7

Looks like a whole mess after upgrade. No one knows which chain is correct.
There is no correct answer - the chain is not the longest chain, its the chain with the most work that adheres to the PODC rules. So far I believe the winner is going to be : getblockhash 33445 201ce2c68c5d520873037429fa644ca1180569a059f052621030e7152f4c5fd3 And its not a mess anymore, everything seems to be working after block 33441. I want to see a 25 block history before misguiding people....

Please try 'exec associate user pass', see if giving yourself a CPID works. You should have a cpid in 'exec getboincinfo'.

Im trying to get a general feel for the integrity of the network now that we have solved 10 successful PODC blocks (congratulations)!
(On a side note, 35% of my sanctuaries were on the wrong chain. I rm chainstate -R, rm blocks -R, rm mnp*.dat, rm peers.dat and then I synced again and I appear to be in agreement on all sancs. Next, the sancs that crashed today: had very large peers.dat files (289 megs), so please, rm peers.dat if you crashed and restart.
So looking at the hash:
getblockhash 33450
7eb9a5ee22bb9a28ea8c4943bf5b448245982998c7cbd05f52f046e38a2a1720
Could you all see if you match now, and if you dont, please re-sync, and if you still dont match could you post here? I would like to see if we can make it through the night on one single PODC chain.

You're welcome You can use this guide by Togo to set-up your PoDC mining (with Boinc): http://wiki.biblepay.org/Distributed_Computing_2About the pool account: a lot has been going on. You could perhaps try again. After another 20-some blocks, the network will probably be deemed 'safe' again. If the problem is still there then, please ask Rob. I've used that function on the pool before, and it was working then, but since a lot has been going on lately, it's possible that it's not functioning correctly currently (but I have no idea, I'm not an expert).

Great news, block 33460 & 33461 were both signed by CPIDS!
CPID 7c9264559fef3c1c689ee9fc3ff42494 was awarded for our first PODC - CPID heat payment: 555 BBP! Congrats!
showblock 33460 to see the blocks CPID info.
