The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

11 blocks to go!

Well there it is! Looks like all is well in Megacoin Land. I don't want to speak too early, as we still have a few tests to pass, but it looks like Kimoto did great!  Grin As soon as we hit Cryptsy again, we should see how the Gravity Well works against the Multipool.

FFS, you do not need to hard fork, to changed difficulty adjustment. Simple software update. Change diff adjust, once 51% of network has update, done.

And from cryptsy chat:

Can this be avoided in the future? Why was it even necessary in the first place?

KIMOTO!  This is the best implementation of difficulty retarget I have ever seen, very nicely done, most devs have difficulty backwards, we wan difficulty to respond fast, its is the only fair way to miners!

Thank you very much, I will be buying alot of BTC worth of MEC!

The only thing left to determine is if the parameters will need tweaked slightly faster or slower, but what I am seeing so far looks just right, amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KIMOTO GRAVITY WELL FTW

Awesome work! The diff. is following the hashrate closely. It seems, like the formula has passed the first multipool spike! Congratulations!

We need some more services! Maybe next thing on the to do list: How about an android wallet? unfortunatelly i'm not a programmer. ;-/
Maybe some of the it-pros kane make a simple one, like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet.litecoin

You've gotta get a life, man. He'll relist it as soon as he is sure everything is stable. Bugging him is pointless.

Looks like the Great Doctor has done a fine job with the difficulty adjustment formula.

It's tracking network bandwidth like a BOSS.

Thanks DOC!

Amazing how fast the difficulty is adjusting. This will be very good for growing the overall network hash rate, since there will be Zero advantage for the Multipool.
Mine now while it's easy, or wait till it becomes more difficult.  Grin

Brilliant work Kimoto!

Hard to believe raveneye was wrong -- his calculations seemed so flawless  Cheesy

I'm definitely impressed with the results, Kimoto -- looks like the best difficulty adjustment formula yet.

Any bets on how soon other coins steal Kimoto's work?

I'lll guess that other devs are reading through the source right now.

Oh well, that's the price you pay for being both smart and first I guess  Cheesy
