And while I understand that you are all deeply financially and emotionally invested in megacoin, I encourage you to look from an objective perspective what you are getting yourself into.

Holding a long term stake in any of these coins is incredibly risky business. I think you are all blinded by the allure of potentially having gotten in early to the next bitcoin/litecoin. Keep in mind that statistics are against you. Much more innovative older coins, with a much bigger backing (PPCoin and Namecoin for instance) have yet to become anything meaningful. Don't forget that.

I don't support megacoin to be the next bitcoin/litecoin, it will be whatever it is on its own.  Of course anybody investing any money they cannot afford to lose is stupid.  I support megacoin because 95 percent of the alt coins are just someone changing the parameters of litecoin and calling themselves a developer, at least kimoto shows that he has some coding ability.

Kimoto has delivered beyond anyone's wildest expectations, and there is obviously some jealousy going on here.

So sad, because they haven't seen anything yet.

I can see the oversight to ports, not a big issue, I can also see the reason not to engage with Hazard as he comes off as bitter and autistic, so again, not a big deal.

I do find it funny the timing of the people who come to thread to bash megacoin, only when good trading on exchanges  they are clearly kicking themselves, so need to come here to justify not staying with MEC.

1000 times would mean approximately $2 a pop from MEC's absolute low point. Yeah, it would take a lot for that to happen. But look at Litecoin sitting at about $2 now. It started really low too, and has been even higher.. and definitely grew 1000x.

In the end the successful currencies will be made, chosen, and developed by the community that invests in them. What will it take for MEC to be successful? A dedicated dev, a community of strong hands, and people that create value for it. I see all those things right now.. that doesn't mean that MEC will be a success.. but it does mean it has a shot.

I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket though. It is high risk after all, and even in the fiat world 90% of all businesses fail. That's to be expected.

Add to that the shady launch that this coin had, and it's a no-no in my book.

I for one do not give a fuck what you or most of the community think about launch of individual cryptos, nor does the greater market. When real money comes in, they will see a very active market and the fact that there is an active and competent developer and community just make it a bit more appealing.

Last comment before you go to iggy land.  You do not even know that the 2nd generation are simply a speculative market.  Anything functionality wise, that is worthwhile, will be put into bitcoin, as it has the resources to get the job done.
