Okay I want to brainstorm my ideas a little bit. Here's what I am going to do. I am thinking of decoupling the voltage regulator from the PCB since it causes so much overheating issues. It will reduce board BOM and hopefully faster turnaround by PCB manufacturer. I am planning to use multiples of this regulator since the output can be paralleled (~$55 e.a.) http://www.intersil.com/en/tools/reference-designs/isl8225meval3z.htmla) Order chips ($25 ea on megabigpower.com) b) Order decoupling capacitors for ASICs c) Get PCB made and assembled by the PCB company (only solder ASIC + decoupling caps. No need to solder voltage regulator section) d) Order Voltage regulators e) Test assembled cards f) Mine g) If successful, sell to interested parties You'll have no margins for profit if chips are $25 ea. That's $400 for the ASICs alone. And I think it's generally expected when MGP and BFSB started selling H boards again they're going to have to price them at less than $300 per board or they'll generate very little interest. Lets say I do it without any profit margins, just for the community at first. Ah ha! Now I know why random cards have dropped out. It's always happened when I've moved a fan or slightly adjusted the position of the M board, etc.
Yeah. I couldn't figure out why my rig did worse in the garage with a loud box fan blasting on it with near-freezing air temperatures (as opposed to inside the house with a less obnoxious fan setting). I finally narrowed it down to the boards wiggling around slightly. Sometimes I could get them in the right position and they'd run for hours and then randomly crap out. That's beautiful, what type of tuning did you do to get the ones over 40 like that? I went ahead and made myself a stablizer to attempt the same thing. I think because I had the 120mm fans on top sitting in a way to keep them from doing the shaking was why I was getting stable numbers. Also, what is the measurement of the spacing you used on your board there? I think I will build the same thing. I used to foam which is working well but Id like to make it better.

Good job to the dumbass misguided helper who chose the smaller than atomic particle Potentiometers (something just a little bit bigger that wouldve been easier to catch with a screwdriver would have made all the difference to me) that are too small for anything. Smallest screwdriver I could find in frys barely seems to catch them most of the time. Extremely frustrating when trying to undervolt the cards for the sake of keeping them on.
No kidding Having a helluva time with the smallest screwdriver I could find from Fry's... Not even sure if I'm getting any movement. Get yourself a phone repair kit, the ones that came with my replacement screen fit perfectly. Or an eyeglass repair kit. I had an eyeglass repair kit and it was too big! Hence the trip to Frys.

I am finding this whole experience with bitfury very annoying.
Glad to see that I am not alone.
I have only seen the H-cards run for a few minutes before the overheating starts.
I don't want to waste time with adding heatsinks, or fine tuning voltage. I just want these to hash.
I really think that pushing the default config for the h-cards to the bleeding edge of performance was a bad idea.

Spent about 12 hours tinkering with it, but I think I finally got mine working... no clue whats gonna happen tomorrow when it warms up tho.
You are luckier than I, enjoy it sir. After spending several hours trying random things suggested all over, I've still had no luck. One rig starts off good at about 450 Gh, but slowly goes down to 250-350 Gh. I have to hit start/stop every 5 minutes to keep it above 400 Gh. I am now switching out H cards in different slots to try and see if I can come up with a card configuration that will run more stable. I read putting bad cards in the last slot of every bank helps. The other one can't even pull 0 Gh. I'm thinking it's possibly a bad M board, or something is wrong with the firmware. There are others with this problem.. so I'm glad knowing I'm not alone. It sucks having an $8,000 bitcoin mining rig and it can't even do 0.1 Gh. I'm gonna keep messing around with it, but at this point I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Your chainminer is probably freezing on startup, i couldn't get it to do a single hash. SSH in and use bfgminer instead, you just won't be able to use the web interface.

I'm done troubleshooting for the evening Shot a "Product Return" email to the MBP folks detailing the issues I've had this evening and hope to get a response about how to proceed. - Received 32 H-Cards and 2 M-Boards. - Identified 2 H-Cards as DOA - M-Board that I thought was DOA I got hashing after further troubleshooting - Consistent behavior with slots 2 and 3 across both M-Boards throttling down towards 0 (with slots 6 and 8 following shortly after) - As per the Mining Support thread, I created a best.cnf with aIfDSo 53 set for all 256 entries -- No difference. Boards eventually throttle to 0 and never recover Help

Ditto here; seeing the exact same thing Have to keep restarting it every 5 minutes to maintain hash-rate. I tried swapping all sorts of combos of H-Cards in different slots with no discernible effect. I feel your pain, bro.

Guys....you need to use a tiny screwdriver and tune down the voltage a bit...also its looking like we need to keep the cards still so I will likely be taking my fans off the top of my cards too if I can. From what others are saying... I think this will help guys...Would you have wanted the cards to be perfect....7 days from now? Because it seems like there would be more waiting. Not here to take MBP's side per say...but putting in one night of work and calling it Bad is sortof shortsighted...I waited at least a few days (contacted MBP for help, did tuning one by one, and I did apply heatsinks as I knew that if it had worked perfectly out the box I wouldve put in the same time to have it hashing high like 600+. Just try more stuff and report failure after trying our suggestions before coming back on here upset.

To be absolutely clear, I'm not calling anything bad. Just a bit surprised that we seem to collectively be having some trouble getting these v3 rigs humming along, stably. Eagerly awaiting updates and info on how to get our babies nice and happy. I wont lie...I was really pissed off the 1st night I got it because it just kept shutting down...and I was under the presumption that my 700W psu wasnt enough because it kept powering off. But after it was working and when i saw it reach 640 for a brief moment on this same psu and not shut down...it gave me that boost in morale to "keep calm and carry on"
